OC Arthur Smith (Official Thread)

Well, if our new OC isn't good at getting the "Jimmys and the Joes", then he'd best be good at the 'X's and the O's". But it does make an impact on the recruits that the 'big guy' comes to see them. Day makes his appearance as the coup d' grace on a recruit, and the OC and DC make almost same impact. Guess as a difference maker/decision maker.

I'd take more than 30 and something faster than the world's slowest-paced offense as a start
I think there needs to be a balance of slow pace and fast pace. The offense can't live in a fast paced no huddle offense, as they could put more pressure on the defense if they can't constantly convert first downs and TDs. Some of the analysts were talking about this already

Of course. I'm not suggesting the extreme opposite. But let's try to not bleed the clock with 7-14 point leads anymore

Rich kids like Arthur are often not the sharpest bulb in the shed because they never had to work for anything. No pressure at school to get A's, no reason to do the work it takes to grow as a person. Mike Brown, e.g. Hopefully he'll turn out to be much more effective than Tim Beck, at least.
