I know everyone is joking, but I thought TP looked frustrated. He is obviously a phenom, but you can tell he is thinking and not reacting.

In all seriousness, when they were running Team, he was always always the last one half-jogging out from sidelines, as if he was thinking, A LOT. After the 3s ran their 2-3 plays, he immediately took a knee beside a coach with his helmet off (he was pretty much the only one to do that) His body language just seemed sluggish. I am sure this is the 1st time he hasnt been the best football player on the field. I cant imagine the pressure he is feeling. You can tell though, that he has "it" When you walked in, your eyes were just drawn to him, immediately.

His throwing motion looks much different (better) It seems he pushes the ball a little instead of letting his arm fly, almost as if he is still thinking about it. He is obviously working hard on it. You can tell he wants to get better.

I don't know how to tell if he was thinking, but what you describe is a large reason why younger talented players find themselves on the bench. You constantly hear players describe the game "slowing down" as they play more. That happens when things become automatic. You no longer have to think about what you are doing and can react to other things that are happening automatically. Every position has a different learning curve and none is steeper than QB.

You could see it dramatically in Troy Smith between the start of his Junior year and his Senior season. I expect to see more of it this year with Boeckman.

Everything is new for Pryor and he will be thinking a lot. And that will lead to mistakes and frustration. As long as he can deal with that it is all good. And everything I am seeing and reading suggests he is handling it just fine.

Since we're starting to be kinda serious, the power and quickness that Beanie hits the hole when he is running is jaw dropping. If he remains healthy all year I think we are in for an amazing season.

If Terrell would just take a moment to himself during the start of every pratice or a scrimmage and talk out loud and say something like "self...stop thinking so much and just play." he would get better overnight. This process worked for years for Hitler ("Self...its blitz krieg time!!!) but when he stopped he got his A$$ kicked by the allies.... I am just saying...no wait "self, I am just saying".

Reconstructing a throwing motion takes awhile. So many factors go into a QB being able to contribute as a true freshman. Most QB's need work on their mechanics (a lot of work usually) and even if they have that, they need to quickly grasp an extensive playbook. Not just memorize the plays, but think of all types of scenarios such as defensive allignments, different schemes, and tendancies. Then you have to make good decisions, have good pocket presence, the ability to move around a little bit (not many true freshman can stay away from pressure usually), etc. Then you have to have the arm strength and accuracy obviously. So much plays into a QB's success that it is difficult for a true freshman to do well at the college level. However, it sounds as if Pryor is doing exceptionally well in most categories but let's face it, that throwing motion is going to have some hesitancy and a little hitch in it to say the least. He is completely reconstructing his throwing motion but the fact that he is listening to coaches and trying to correct it speaks volumes to me. Vince Young and Phillip Rivers are 2 guys that stick out to me that never changed their delivery. He is going to have some freshman moments but Terrelle has a great work ethic and is in a great situation with Todd helping him out and grooming him for next year. Still, I think he has the tools to help us out on the ground and in the air, moreso as a surprise throwing the ball.

i'm actually a lot more interested in what Beanie did in the practice than what pryor did. news on Beanie has been somewhat scant during practices, and that could mean A) he's doing exactly as well as you'd expect from the nation's best RB and therefore there's no point in talking about him, B) he's not doing as well as expected/he's got an injury they don't want to talk about, or C) he's gotten horrifyingly unstoppable and no one wants to spoil the surprise

i'm 90% sure it's A, but you'd think that a guy who's going to be one of the top two heisman contenders this year would be getting more info dished about him. of course, by far the most likely scenario is that i'm getting paranoid and the football season needs to start. now.

Agreed that the season needs to start, and I agree with you. I think he is doing as well as what was and is expected from him. I think he will only continue to get better as the season goes on, as he will have quite a few HUGE games

"I've seen beanie. He's pretty good." -Jim Tressel that's about all you can say about a stud.
