Observations from C-Deck

O-line played great-holes for the running game, and Smith had tons of time. The only screwup in blocking came on Wells' fumble-our own guys clogged the hole and he ran right up their backs.
Hopefully everyone is correct in their analysis of the D-I thought the LBers could have done a better job of shedding their blocks.

i could be wrong, but i think smith officially had one rushing attempt on a called option play.

I was in 6 C, not bad seats (also Sears, my old man thanks you for the tickets). I did notice, and I think it has been mentioned elsewhere, that NIU cut blocks quite a bit. It seemed to give the lb's some problems.

I think I counted a total of 5 blitzes, all of which came on 3rd down, none of which came after the 2nd quarter.

I was in 8C row 33.

Great observations as usual, Oh8ch!

One thing that stood out for me that I haven't seen mentioned was Robiskie's hands! I thought he made a few great catches on balls that weren't exactly 'on the money'.

Man, it's a good time to be a Buckeye.

The performance of Robiske and Hartline will be a good prod for Roy Hall to pick his game up. Roy has talent but he was to comfortable being a back-up. He needs to make the most of his opportunities or Hartline and Robiske will get te most of the PT.

OK, I'm fairly new to this site, but like all the posters above, I really enjoyed reading this, and really appreciated the logical/rational thought behind it. Does this post come each week?

Wow I'm looking forward to this week...finally get to really take the gloves off and see what we can do on both sides of the ball. I'm also grateful for the challenge that Wolfe presented last week, it gives the players and coaching plenty of learning opportunities. There'll be no complacency this week...that's fur shur.

and the fact ive heard the nickname 7 11 from half a dozen people all thinking they had an original comment. he seems to always be open, if not open hes created enough space in the throwing lane with his body to allow troy to deliver the ball to him

Yep - sure does (well for home games w/the C-deck title) and you can depend on similar analysis on away games.

We are lucky, and you should give a nod to Oh8ch

I had seats in 21 c fifth row. I was seat 8 and practically right on the 50. I don't know but those have to be some of the best seats in the Shoe.

The defense played fairly well considering all of the substitutions. Freeman, Homan, and Laurinitis should never leave the field.

2. Wolfe

Early on I thought I would get my wish of addressing a ‘told you so’ post to the NIU fans who kept telling us we couldn’t stop Wolfe. Didn’t turn out that way. Kid took a ton of solid hits and kept on coming. Gotta give him the credit he deserves.
I told you so.

Wolfe was everything you advertised based on the radio coverage I heard, the fact he got a lot of yards later in the game as the defensive rotations were in full gear should not detract from his efforts. Those were still players, damned good ones, that he gained his yards and points against.

I'm looking forward to seeing what I heard to fully drink in the game.

Noticed from A-Deck that Curt Lukens, Aram Olson, and Devon Lyons were padless and wearing windpants with their jerseys during pre-game. There were quite a few walk-ons who also weren't in action, but those 3 scholarship players seem to be hurt. I kinda knew about Lyons, but Lukens and Olson were new news to me. Thought I'd pass that on.

Oh8ch, you need to start smuggling your own nacho topping in to the games!
Mix up some appropriate cheese(very soft) and peppers in a zip lock baggy.
Buy plain nachos and squeeze your mix on top and let the sun melt things!
Voila! Super(cheap) nachos!
