OBSERVATIONS FROM C DECK - MIAMI

I see no reason not to have a Pryor roll-out with a run/pass (either to the FB or the TE) option as the defacto play to run in that situation. If it's not there throw it into Block O or run it out of bounds. Hell, run it three times in a row if necessary. Pryor's legs have to be part of the red-zone offense on every play. Opposing defenses will fail to stop it more often than not, even if they know it's coming.

My thought as well. No huddle should be necessary.

Can someone please tell me why a Pryor roll-out is not the default play in that situation?

Good review, Oh8ch.

I think it was actually J Boren who was quoted as saying Pryor was kind of a punk freshman year. I, too, thought that was great that that kind of stuff was out in the open.

I thought the game was great, warts and all.

Spring game of TP's freshman year, first quarter and he started talking trash with the guys on the gray squad. Tress pulled him from the game and made him sit the rest of the game. I'm wondering if that wasn't the wake up call.

I remember Tress saying that. I'm pretty sure it was more tongue in cheek. Pryor finished out the first half with those two TD passes (Washington, Small), and I think the coaches had seen all they needed and didn't want to risk injury.

Not the best crowd in Shoe history - but it will do. (Benjamin stated that on the Chekwa intercept he could not here changes to the call.)

I do, however, need to reference the crowd reaction to the aforementioned field goal. With fourth and four on the Miami seven a considerable portion of the crowd around me were hollering for JT to go for it. A field goal puts you up three possessions at the end of the third quarter and these clowns want to run something risky. OSU fans are loyal and rabid, but sometimes of questionable judgment. This is why fans in general need to keep their opinions to themselves and should never, ever questions coaches play calling or personnel decisions.

I think the booing there was for poor clock management. At least that's what I was booing for.

But if I am Berry or Hall sitting on the sidelines I have to be asking myself why.

And the more I see of Berry - he looks like s a game changer.

So listen up JT. Get him on the field. I don't care what he looks like in practice. I don't care how well he catches the ball out of the backfield, how often he misses assignments or if he frequently puts the ball on the ground. You are busy on Saturday's and can't follow everything. I on the other hand am way up in C-Deck and can see really well. And Berry is good. Play him. Now.

Nuff Said. lol.

If I had any say I'd love to see Herron as the lead guy, with Berry/Hall spelling Herron. Saine as the primary 3rd down back with how well he catches the ball.

I personally feel that Berry and Hall's change of direction capabilities would be a welcome attribute to an offense that already has speed and power at the QB position. I'd love to see Berry running the zone read with pryor t his week!

3. CROWDED BACKFIELD

We pay your salary coach. And we want Berry.

Your observations are always very entertaining, and I thank you for spending your time to elaborate... but you don't always live by your own advice, do you?

Although maybe this was a clever set-up (as pointed out on page 3 of this thread) and my 4 beers tonight slowered my brain down to the point where I missed it. Don't know.
