O.J. Tossed from Restaurant (MERGED)
It amazes me how angry people still are about OJ. Can't the dude meet some friends and get a bite?
Im not sure if this is posted anywhere.. heard this on the radio

a customer came up to the owner and said they were uncomfortable.. OJ had a party of 12 and the owner didn't want this situation in his resturant.. so the owner went over there told him twice to leave.. OJ then walked up to the guy afterwards.. (OJ didn't say a word when the owner was over at his table) he told the owner he understood and would get the rest of his party and leave.. the owner later said 'it was the first time he's(OJ) ever acted with class yada yada' and that hes gotten hundreds of positive emails

again, being found not guilty is not the same as being innocent. there is a difference.

If innocent is being used in the context of criminal law, then yes, a finding of not guilty means he is innocent. If "innocent" is used in a larger context that denotes "did he do it", separate from the criminal context, then he is not, as a civil trial found him liable. Your prior Mass law quote did nothing to support your general thesis that a person found not guilty is not "innocent". In your example, the person who had a valid claim of self defense actually killed someone, albeit with no findings of a violation of criminal law. Had the person not committed a lesser included offense or acted in self defense, a finding of "not guilty" predicated on "you ain't the guy" is indeed a finding of innocent, as he still maintains the same presumption post trial as he had pre-trial. Actually, the presumption is now solidified by the not guilty verdict.
