Ntre Ame 49, Hawaii 21 (Final)

I could give a shit about any of that....

Besides, despite all of your CRAP... 28 out of 40 on this board thought ND would lose.

ND finally won a bowl game and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Chief, 28 out of 40 people who bet in the thread doesn't mean that two-thirds of us thought that ND would lose.

There's no crap intended. Kicked ass? When Notre Dame fans are crowing about beating a team that is ranked below Montana, Wofford, Richmond, etc.....well, maybe it's time to reassess just how far the former mighty have fallen, don't you think so?

Correct that you do.

However, since you have been here at BP, when has OSU played in a bowl game that was as insignificant as the Hawaii Bowl against an opponent that probably wouldn't be DII champs?

Seriously NDC, good for your team to finally get a bowl win.

But please do not call it a "bowl game/big game" as if those two are interchangeable. I remember not too long ago, when ND resembled something close to ND, that the Domers would have refused to go to such a lower tiered bowl.

We win big-time bowl games against big-time competition (well, except when we pounded Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl). You finally win a bowl game after a record nine-straight bowls losses against a mediocre-at-best team, and you want to equate the two?

Congratulations to Notre Dame for a bowl win.

Thanks for your comments after big game wins for Ohio State. Some of us have congratulated Notre Dame fans on this win.

If you re-read my post cited above, you will recall that I take no pleasure in the depths to which your team has sunk. Re-reading the thread, I don't think that anyone's comments on here were directed toward you personally and I certainly was not busting your chops, Chief.

Let's take a step back and put the shoe on the other foot.

Can you remember Ohio State playing a team so lowly rated as Hawaii in a bowl game during the last 25 years? There is a list here (link), but I don't remember any of these teams being so lowly ranked or Ohio State appearing in such a lowly bowl.

Do you recall you or any fans of other teams rushing to congratulate us after Ohio State beat a team earlier this year that was ranked well above Hawaii (i.e., Troy)? Do you recall anyone here expressing dismay because fans of other teams were not congratulating us for that win against a pretty weak Troy team, even though we played them just a week after the wheels came off against USC and our NC hopes went down the drain?

If we had played and won a bowl game against a team ranked below the #5 MAC team, I think the reaction on BP would be pretty subdued, don't you?

Quick, what do San Jose State, Utah State, and Notre Dame all have in common? They all beat Hawaii, of course.

Seriously, I LLLOOOVVEEE all the Subway Alumni coming out of the woodwork now, acting like they just won 18 straight Super Bowls. "Oh my God (oops, supposed to be Catholic, can't say God), if JIIIMAAAAAAYYYEEEEE has those stats every game next year, he'll win the Heisman!!!111!!!!" "We're back!!!! Weis for coach of the Century! Football starts again in 2009!!!!1! eleventy-one!"

Seriously, the day I celebrate like Jessica Biel is laying on my bed in Victoria's Secret underwear with her mouth open because we beat a team that lost to UTAH FUCKING STATE I will demand the head coach at Ohio State, whomever that is, be fired, or else quit watching football.

Funny, I can remember seeing a lot of OSU players and fans all excited during and after close games against Troy and Ohio this year.

I don't recall seeing any, and I was at one of those games. We were fortunate to get the wins, they are obviously better than losses, but no one was happy at all with the way we played, let alone jumping up and down like we had just won the Stanley Cup.

No on may have been happy about the way OSU played but there was alot of happiness and celebration going on. At least from what the TV showed.

I've seen the light. I'm going to register over at IrishEyes and spend my days demanding justice for the Buckeyes from the posters over there.

It sure seems like a winning proposition.

I am not trying to equate the two because ND has a long way to got to get to OSU's level. But you really can't say that OSU has been winning it's big games as of late.

Comparing the two would sort of be like comparing the toughness of a wrestler and a band geek huh ??:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: Or a margarita guzzler and a
beer drinker ?? :(:(:(:(

Well I'm not saying you're lyin', but I don't know where the hell they were lookin', cuz everywhere I was it was a sigh of relief and a "We're gonna get killed by USC if we play like that" all the way around.

Chief said I should link my "The SEC is much faster than the Big-Ten" thread on here, is that OK?
