Congrats to Chief and Ulukinatme. A win is a win, and when your team has been struggling like ND the past couple of years, that first step up, however small, feels pretty good.
If I'm an ND fan (which I clearly am not), it does raise a little bit of concern. The bowl win coupled with a fairly easy schedule next year will likely have Charlie looking at a major bowl bid next year. Regardless of whether he wins that bowl game, that is probably enough success to keep the administration happy for awhile, maybe years. And there's the rub, I just don't see Charlie getting you to elite status. I think there is a good chance your left with that frustrating dilemma of having a coach that's too good to fire, but will never get you to #1. It will be interesting to see...
