Ntre Ame 3 USC 38 (Final)

Na, humiliated happened a long time ago, we did exactly what we were supposed to lol. I should think losing by only a field goal more than the Buckeyes did to USC would be a step up for us actually, this game could have easily been 50+ the way USC has been playing, and the way we've been playing. No, sadly, 30 point beat down at the hands of USC has become a staple most years Pete Carrol has been there, save Pete's first year I think when ol' Bob Davies may have pulled a win...been so long I'd have to check that one. Theres only been one other game ND has even been competitive in, and that was Weis's first year.

I was just reading the story about this game on ESPN and here was some of thier fast facts which I found very funny.

• In similar fashion to last year's 38-0 win over Notre Dame, USC won its seventh straight against the Irish, the longest losing streak for ND against anyone since losing eight straight vs. Michigan State from 1955-63.
• Notre Dame managed just nine yards in the first half and finished with 91 on the day.
• The Irish failed to earn a first down until the final play of the third quarter.
• Pete Carroll improved to 27-0 in November as Trojans coach. Meanwhile, Charlie Weis lost his eighth straight game against a top 25 team (and 10th of last 11) as the Irish extended their worst two-year stretch ever with a 15th loss.

Ntre Ame had 91 yards of offense. Which is terrible. Which got me thinking.

I had to think back to a game in which one team in a rivalry game gained 91 yards of offense. I mean, it's unheard of, right? Umm...

Nevermind

UUUUGGGHHH.

The only thing that I kept thinking while watching this game was that as bad as ND looked against USC on Saturday night, the Buckeyes looked equally inept against them this past September. Ohio State did manage more yards, though (200 total I think).

Can't wait for next September. Here's hoping for some payback.

I even lost 5 v bucks on Saturday. Fucking Irish.

EDIT Holy Hell. I just looked that game up. 207 total yards but only 35 yards in the second half. I knew it was bad but I had forgotten just how bad. Christ Almighty.
