For those of you thinking CFB hasn't turned into bitch ball, that's a textbook example.

You have a QB showing a willingness to run, the QB gives himself up less than a yard from a defender who has already committed to lowering his leverage while flying downfield.... draws a flag.

At some point, the onus needs to be on the QB declaring giving himself up in a safe distance. No different than not being allowed to motion your snap count towards the LOS to simulate a snap and draw the defense off sides. You're drawing defenders into contact knowing that they have to commit to stopping you running, or let up and risk giving up further yardage.

Accountability and understanding that football is a bang-bang game needs to be brought back.

It's time for Ryan Day to earn his money.

I've said this before and some didn't like it but Day is too pass happy for me. You've got a stud RB and can't run the ball unless you're playing a completely overmatched opponent. Worse? You don't even try.

One-dimensional is a challenge, even when you've got five star talent. A good team will make it hard on you unless you show them you can hurt them in other ways.

Yeah, I’m confused by anyone knocking the D right now, but it is what it is. Looks good to me. High intensity out there, which is exactly what has been called for.
I think it's because it's hard to know how good this ND offense is. Even still, Utah's O wasn't exactly a juggernaut and basically did whatever they wanted in the Rose Bowl so this looks like a nice improvement.
