Notre Dame Fighting Irish (official thread of bowl failures)

Solid academics, high visibility, storied program (whether or not anyone agrees that they are still deserving), worldwide alumni base.

I agree with you due to my OSU bias, but @MililaniBuckeye made all the points for ND. Not to mention many of their commits/signees are from Parochial schools and/or grew up with some type adult in their life who has bonds to the school. They are essentially the catholic version of scUM, 2 schools holding on to their history, when they were relevant when most of these kids' parents or even grandparents were their age. They hold up a banner of academic superiority, yet most schools nowadays offer just as much post graduation as them both(i.e. I doubt a kid who played for and eventually graduates from UGA, UCLA, BC, Rutgers, etc is worrying about a job)
I understand and have no disagreements regarding those points.
I just seeing the FB team wallowing in mediocerity from here on out. No real shot at championships, etc. Hence, my statement and how that sort of appears to matter more for the Premier national athletes of today.

Do you have a link for that?

I only see that Dublin won't allow an event of over 5,000 attendees, and it's a Navy home game but I haven't seen an official announcement from them.

There is nothing official, but it's been discussed.
Should clarify - the game is in same pot as everyone's CFB season. But the trip is a nogo.
We're preparing to give classes remotely in the Fall. And not like "on the off chance" preparing, but as Plan A.

One of today's trivia questions:

Q - The movie “Rudy” was released in October, 1993. Since then, how many Notre Dame players have been taken in the top-5 overall picks of the NFL Draft?

A – A big fat ZERO is correct. Congrats, you also win that many orange crème margaritas.

These teams have had a top-5 pick in that time: Alcorn State, Fresno State, Wake Forest, Central Michigan, Buffalo, North Dakota State, and Western Michigan.

Last Domer in the top-5 was Rick Mirer in '93 a few months before the movie.

I have NEVER watched that movie. And now that I know that my boycott is keeping the Domers from having a top-5 draft choice, I never will.
