Notre Dame Fighting Irish (official thread of bowl failures)

I always want tsun to lose the meteor game (I never use the phrase "root for") but looking at ND's chimp simple schedule, it might not be the worst thing in the world if they lost.

You gotta be fucking kidding me with this

I see 4 teams left on the schedule after tsun with a pulse (Stanford, at Northwestern, FSU and at USC). I guess at VT and Navy are sort of tough games but they have to have at least 3 losses to be eliminated from playoff contention.

12-0 and cruising into the CFP, just as they planned.

Has anybody stopped to consider that maybe they're just good this year?

Well, compared to most teams this year, they're good. Not going to stop them from being beatdown by Clemson by about 24 points. Then we can hear about how hard it is to coach and recruit at ND and how unfair it is.

It makes sense that they had a close game with Michigan. Similar teams, with ND having a worse D and better QB and RB. Their good but not great athleticism will get exposed.

Their schedule by current W/L

tsun 10-2
Ball State 4-8
Vanderbilt 6-6
Wake Forest 6-6
Stanford 7-4
Virginia tech 5-6
Pitt 7-5
Navy 3-9
Northwestern 8-4
FSU 5-7
Syracuse 9-3
USC 5-7

So basically tsun and NU are the only two teams they played (no offense but I don't buy Syracuse).

If OSU beats them both by a larger margin, I don't think it's unfair to make the argument for them being 4th and the OU/OSU beauty contest winner being #3.

I agree, but the committee would never do it because "Notre Dame".

As for their sheeple, setting aside the obvious fact that we don't hand pick our 12 game schedule, they'd come back with this:

tsun 10-2 (same)
Ball State 4-8 (Oregon State 2-10)
Vanderbilt 6-6 (Tulane 6-6)
Wake Forest 6-6 (Minnesota 6-6)
Stanford 7-4 (Sparty 7-5)
Virginia tech 5-6 (Purdue 6-6, loss)
Pitt 7-5 (Indiana 5-7)
Navy 3-9 (Rutgers 1-11)
Northwestern 8-4 (TCU 6-6)
FSU 5-7 (Nebraska 4-8)
Syracuse 9-3 (Penn State 9-3)
USC 5-7 (Maryland 5-7)

Their regular season schedule is actually 9 more wins and 9 fewer losses better than ours as of today. Most of those comparisons, if they played each other, look like toss ups.

I'd love to play ND H2H, but the schedule argument isn't as strong unless we blow out the two common opponents. One down, one to go, but even then they'll point to Purdue (and ignore that we have to play a 13th game because that's what you do in a conference these days).

Alabama's special treatment is annoying, but the argument can be made that they've earned the benefit of the doubt (at least while Saban is there). Notre Dame hasn't earned shit. They're just popular with the masses.

It's pretty clear these cocksuckers know damn well they'd be reduced to Purdue/Indiana (They are an Indiana school too, after all) status if they made the jump to the B1G. So, they - in true ND fashion - decided to grace the ACC with their presence... you know.. the ACC that hasn't really been worth a shit since they took Miami and VT from the Big East .. the ACC that Notre Dame could still be competitive in ... as long as they only played footsie, though... that way in any given season they stood a chance to avoid whatever ACC school was the flavor of the month.. in this case, Clemson...

It is my sincere hope that the committee drops them to 5 and the message is clear - stop fuckin around and join a conference or don't. You don't get to have it both ways. If you join the ACC and win an ACC championship game... great.. we'll consider you for the CFP... if you dont.. well... you're never going to be a conference champ and you're going to be punished for not having that box checked.

At 11-1 yes, at 12-0 not a chance unfortunately
