Notre Dame Fighting Irish (official thread of bowl failures)

Well, now the hangover from the tsun schadenfreude party.......media is going to latch onto ND's nuts and begin their annual swing but with a vengeance.

It would be reallllly nice if one of these creampuff teams from their schedule would knock them off or they will be in the CFP hunt with an absolutely unfair advantage.

Look at the bright side - if Ohio State does make the playoffs, wouldn't you want Notre Dame to be one of the other three teams?

I’m sure the fan base is excited; got a nice win against a ranked opponent to start the season which instills optimism and hope for a great season.

But fuck, Wimbush looked awful throwing the ball — bleach-in-your-eyes awful. Perhaps he develops throughout the season but goddamn if that completion % of 49 from last season materialize.

Pretty confident they drop two games with that guy at the helm.

One would think but I've seen them get stupid fucking lucky, and the pollsters confuse said luck with skill, too many times to feel good about it.

Have no doubt; everyone who'll be in that committee room has a half chub after last night and is now hoping that ND can keep winning so they can put them in the top 4 when the first ranking comes out. Outside of the SEC champ, there's no bigger lock for the playoff than the domers if they don't drop more than one game.

Oh absolutely

It's the ass fucking of watching them get in over OSU that I am reflexively preparing for and, obviously, cringing from.

Exactly.

Looking at their schedule again, and wiping the cupcake icing off my face, the CFB world is going to need them to lose AT LEAST 2 games.

First window:
9/29 home vs Stanford
10/6 @ Virginia Tech

Gotta lose 1 of those 2 or you can put their playoff % at 90+ right then and there

The Alamo: if they win out to here, CFB is fucked but still has a late season Kelly -wheels-fall-off special to hope for

5 loseable games on the schedule, need them to drop 2 at minimum

OSU will be lucky to make the CFP if it drops 1
