Well I got back to the mainland on that cargo ship they rented out for me no problem so that shows what you know.
I was just sitting here convalescing from knee surgery and thought I'd catch up the local ND fans on the latest goings on in the program.
-As you probably saw the Hawaii coach apologized for mocking our dance and calling us gay. He's lucky he did. I didn't think we'd be able to keep Claussen and his friends peaceful much longer if he didn't. They were sssssoooo angry.
- The schedule has been reworked to give us a better shot at demonstrating our schematic advantage this year.
-People are making fun of us for our schedule but Nevada, Uconn, Stanford, Navy, Washington and Washington State have all won football games in the past at some point so they are no pushovers. Also;
- Purdue and Michigan won 8 games between them last year and we have to actually go on the road to play both. We might very well drop one against these two juggernauts but hey, juggernauts remind me of sauerkraut, brats and doughnuts. How can we go wrong?
- Add in the fact we have to play at a Stanford team that won 5 games last year and our road schedule is a lot tougher than people are giving us credit for. This game could be a nightmare but the San Francisco dining scene is only a short diesel powered extra heavy duty rental ride away.
- Pitt may have lost their best player to the draft but they were above .500 last year for god's sake. I don't see how anyone could look at them and think they aren't a tough opponent. I know the city of Pittsburgh is still pissed at me over that whole attempted trolley ride thing a while back but hey, if you can't build one that will get everyone to the top then you are insensitive and deserve to get sued. That aside the Primanti brothers always like to see me coming so all in all Pittsburgh is ok with me.
- We also have to play a neutral site game in Texas against Washington State who actually beat Washington last year and pulverized Portland State 48-9. Those teams coming off 2 win seasons can be scary and the Cougar faithful are known for how well they travel. It should be a tough one but the Tex Mex restaurants down in San Antonio make the trip worthwhile.
-Anyway, its shaping up to look like we stand a pretty good chance at 9 wins and a BCS Bowl. Thats especially great this year because the first pick for an at large team goes to the Orange Bowl down in Miami. I don't think I need to remind anyone of how much I like Cuban food so we are really looking forward to a chance to go down there.
I have to go for now, having a new catering company bring in the 4PM feeding. I'll try and stop in to update everyone again, maybe after they replace the other knee.
