Well...it's difficult to argue with someone that has such personal knowledge of Weis's diet and exercising habits. I feel stupid for having to say this, but coaching has a little more to do with mental abilities than physical abilities. There are a lot of fat coaches out there. This is a very childish argument.
According to all OSU fans, ND will always be the instigator. I'm just saying that according to me, OSU fans were the instigators. All of this is anecdotal, and there's little use in arguing about it.
See, this is where you're starting to get unecessarily offended. I never said that Notre Dame's recent history was better than OSU's. I'm well aware of our inadequacies. However, that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to comment on OSU football. You can't excuse your big-game woes by pointing to a team that's done worse. Sure, you've done much better than ND in recent years, but that doesn't mean your [censored] doesn't stink. I'm mature enough to admit ND's shortcomings, I don't pass it off by saying "at least we're better than _____."
So mature.

Actually, that's where the majority of the hatred for ND comes from, in my experience with ND discussions. But don't that get in the way of you knowing everything. This isn't much of an excuse. This thread itself did not start with some ND fan spouting off how awesome our program is did it?
So you're saying a fan should not respond to "your team sucks" by pointing out the flaws of others? Whoops. You can't excuse your big-game woes by pointing to a team that's done worse.
guess you're digging yourself a hole quickly, huh?I get automatic lip about the state of our program, Weis's weight, and that 06 Fiesta Bowl game. It's all kind of sad really, considering OSU's notorious trouble in other bowl games.
And we're back to my opening point about why people hate notre dame.As an SEC fan (Tennessee for everyone that wants to jump on that), I get an extra little chuckle out of that as well.

Who are your other favorite teams? Or will you wait until next year to add other "favorite" teams?Musified;1457378; said:I'm very sorry for offending the old guard of those "elite" college football fans, but hey, everyone's got to start somewhere.
Perhaps you should, because you seem to have little comprehension of why.I don't wonder why people give me shit.
You take it serious enough to bring it up in your first paragraph. This is a humorous topic from a Notre Dame fan's perspective. I won't concern myself with some of the more obtuse criticisms, like Weis's weight (an interesting topic of discussion for such a mature message board). Anyways, it's more humorous in how time and selective memory can form rivalries. I haven't followed college football that long. I guess I really started getting into it in 04 or so. I was always kind of a Notre Dame fan because my parents and entire family always wanted me to go there. It's also kind of fun being a fan of the probably the most hated team in America. Even when we're completely irrelevant (which has been most of the years I've been following them), people expend such energy into hating us. I guess I just don't take it too seriously.

so then you admit you're just here to stir up trouble, and not talk football, right?Musified;1457386; said:EDIT: Last warning -- Change your tone or leave
