I feel stupid for having to say this, but coaching has a little more to do with mental abilities than physical abilities. There are a lot of fat coaches out there. This is a very childish argument.

I'm mature enough to admit ND's shortcomings, I don't pass it off by saying "at least we're better than _____."

I don't hate ND and their land walking sea cow of a coach because tOSU has lost a few games over the last five fucking years. Actually, that's where the majority of the hatred for ND comes from, in my experience with ND discussions. But don't that get in the way of you knowing everything.

I get automatic lip about the state of our program, Weis's weight, and that 06 Fiesta Bowl game. It's all kind of sad really, considering OSU's notorious trouble in other bowl games.

I love the idiocy of thinking Tennessee gets to share in the accomplishments of vastly different programs like LSU & Florida, especially considering that mediocre b10 teams like Wisky & PSU have given them all they could handle.

This is a humorous topic from a Notre Dame fan's perspective. I won't concern myself with some of the more obtuse criticisms, like Weis's weight (an interesting topic of discussion for such a mature message board). Anyways, it's more humorous in how time and selective memory can form rivalries. I haven't followed college football that long. I guess I really started getting into it in 04 or so. I was always kind of a Notre Dame fan because my parents and entire family always wanted me to go there. It's also kind of fun being a fan of the probably the most hated team in America. Even when we're completely irrelevant (which has been most of the years I've been following them), people expend such energy into hating us. I guess I just don't take it too seriously.

You take it serious enough to bring it up in your first paragraph.

This is one of the reasons I don't like ND fans. They think that being hated = being good, because most often the teams that are hated the most are the teams that are good....and people are just jealous. Yankees, Lakers, Cowboys, Duke historically. ND used to be hated for this......now they're just hated because their fans are annoying. And those same stupid fans revel in being hated because they think that makes them relevant. It doesn't. It doesn't take much effort at all to put a little post it note in my brain that says "hate ND". That doesn't make you relevant.....it makes you annoying.
