This note is for all visiting fans, but I do realize I am preaching to the choir for the most part.

Please remember this is a tOSU fan forum above all else. While we enjoy and encourage intelligent debate and we even expect you to defend your beloved team to the best of your ability, we will not tolerate any form of bashing tOSU, its players, fans, or programs.

If you need to know what is acceptable debate and defense, take a look at the posts of EngineerHorn, HighLonesome, BrockSamson, TexasFight06, or Methomps. These are all visiting fans who defend their programs against our biggest tOSU homers, but always do so with respect of this site and the conversation at hand. They always have facts to back opinion and are open to both sides of an argument.

We have had a rough day in terms of flamers, but I would hope this does not continue. BP is not about banning folks for different opinions. However, if that opinion cannot be presented in a decent manner that does not provoke the members, someone has to go. We will ALWAYS warn you about your behavior, but repeated behavior carries consequences that none of us want.

A handful of folks were banned today for crossing the line of decent conversation/casual trashtalk into the realm of outright flaming/trolling. Please respect this site in which many of us take great pride.

This is absolutely true.

We can't let BP degrade to the point where even the most level headed are finding themselves responding to flame. Both sides need to avoid baiting the other. There are *tons* of sites where Buckeyes and Longhorns can just talk smack and flame each other. Let's leave this as the one where those two circles can discuss the nuts and bolts. These conversations can be heated. Everyone can defend and respect their program, just appreciate that the other side is going to do the same.

Game week is tough, everyone is on the edge of their seat in anticipation of this game. Everyone is wound up. So everyone should police themselves as best as possible.

IF YOU GET A WARNING FROM MODS -- *please* respect the message you're sent. Because right now, odds are if you don't, you will at least temporarily be seeing a message explaining why you've been blocked from the site.

Not only do I want to see Longhorns on BP, I also want to see many of them stay for the remainder of the season, as we have another game to play, and both our teams are primed this year for a serious shot at the national title game. Hell, there are scenarios that could put us in a rematch in said game. Texas has great fans that know football. Ohio State has great fans that know football. There's value in us sharing our very different perspectives, both before and after this game.

So anyone who wants to see that happen, should help play a role in making sure it's possible.

I'd like to bring your attention to this point...

I blame the biased media for being left off this list, the facts at hand are thus... BrockSamson = 20 posts, Chalumpa = 85 posts. Damn liberal media painting me as a "non-respectul, thread hijacker." :biggrin:

I am sorry for some of our younger fans everyone. I have been a lurker here, because I have seen some of your fans get flamed on our board and felt ashamed. I come here to talk xx's and oo's,... not to get trashed on every word I say. Good luck to you. May everyone stay healthy, no matter the outcome.
