People wanted to fire Tressel after his first game because he only beat Akron 28-14 (Should have been 35-7, but whatever)

The excuse Smith gave for keeping Beals was "the Buckeyes do great in the community". Holy fucking shit, so goddamned what? That's the easy fucking part. Going to old folks homes or telling kids to "don't smoke crack" is as easy as sitting down. Winning games and, you know, building a program, recruiting, etc, THAT is the hard part. Beals has failed spectacularly.
