To the SEC homer conversation earlier with College Football Nerds as the example.
I used to like College Football Nerds but their product seems to have fallen off a cliff this year (and I really haven’t watched them that much).
Earlier this year they came out with the hot take that Sayin can’t throw it deep. Was it that hard to recognize that the coaches were protecting a young QB (against Texas especially) even if you managed not to be exposed to the largest fan base in the country talking about it non stop? That, of course, is now a mark of embarrassment for them that they’ve been referencing for the rest of the year that mean ol’ Ohio State fans won’t let go.
I turned on their Miami game preview and couldn’t get through the first five minutes due to their hot take that Miami’s defense was uniquely positioned to have success rushing four and putting their CBs on islands.
Indiana disguised coverages masterfully, stunted their dline, and varied the ways in which they were bringing pressure and covering in zone to throw Sayin and the oline off early and in the middle of the B1G championship. And Sayin/Ohio State still figured it out but couldn’t finish drives because, due to injuries or a chaotic week that created a really bad game plan, they took their best players off the field and made really bad calls in the red zone.
If Miami just rushes their front four and mans up on the wide receivers it will be a true gift for Ohio State and the best possible scenario for the offense.
Thinking Miami’s key is doing that was such a mind numbingly bad take derived from stupidity or not actually watching games - like I said, I couldn’t continue watching the video after that because it so completely erased any value their opinion would have. Their M/O seems to be to overly rely on their computer model while coming up with gut feeling, often stupid, reasons why the model might be wrong about Ohio State for 30 minutes.

Watched the second half of USC this morning. When it was 24-14, I said “Lincoln Riley is gonna blow this”.

Well that’s perfectly understandable! The SEC teams have better players…cuz they’re on SEC teams. So it’s obviously much more difficult when an SEC team loses better players than when any other team only loses non-SEC players. In fact, it’s just not fair!
All y’all just need to stop whining and pay more attention to what “SEC!SEC!” means.
