No More Flag Planting and Laurence Jabronie

i kinda have to beg to differ on the thought that the flag wouldn't hurt the FieldTurf, it will, ohio state has it on their indoor practice and one of their outdoor fields, i know i because i was at the osu football camp this summer, and it is basically a rug with plastic/rubber blades of grass, and these little black beads that hold down everything, poking a flag pole thru it will rip it, and basically destroy that section, i read somewhere that the turf in michigan stadium cost $660,000 and that guy is lucky he didn't get that flag thru the turf

If the flag had a sharp point, you could drive it through the fieldturf, there's about 3 in. of sand and crushed rubber topdressed over the synthetic fibers. Even if you went through the bottom, you wouldn't really hurt it. :biggrin:

this guy i believe was talking about the FieldTurf


i have felt it and actually pulled on some of the blades and it lifts like a piece of carpet, i really don't like it, you fall on it and it can give you a real bad rug burn, of course grass can too, but not as bad as FieldTurf


now Ohio State also has a AstroTurf field that looks like its 20 years old, it is sun-beaten, dried up and hard, when we were doing our 7 on 7 games one team had to go skins, meaning they took their shirts off, and one of our games was on the AstroTurf and we had to go skins, so whenever one of our guys fell he got a real bad rug burn

...but I'm actually starting to feel sorry for ya...I know your young, so how about a little advice. We may giggle like little girls about bouncing titties and fart noises and penis jokes and so forth, but we are not actually stupid...OK? Some of us are even fairly intelligent...I think most of us have a good idea what "shirts and skins" means. Same with "field turf". I think you are just trying too hard here buddy. Calm down a little. You don't have to be in every conversation on the board to enjoy it...And you don't have to share every thought that comes to you, unless it's in one of Thump's threads, that's appropriate in most instances. I will forgo the dinging (others may not) and see if you can work yourself outta the very large Tibor sized hole you've created for yourself...Here's to hoping you can figure out why you are the ruby master...

ok i realize that, but we all know that not everyone on here has played football and some may not know what i meant, i was just trying to put it so everyone knew what i meant

Disclaimer: If you don't watch "My name is Earl" you won't understand this post.

Not that the poor kid needs anymore piling on, but...

In tedginn05's defense, see he has played football so he knows what field turf does to skin, others they haven't played football so they don't know what it's like, but tedginn has played. Others, they may have only seen it on tv, but tedginn has actually played on it so he knows what it feels like. But other people may have walked by the turf so that have seen it, but tedginn played on the turf so he's seen it up close and knows what could happen if something was poked through it. Others might think they know what would happen, but they haven't seen it up close. tedginn has so he knows.
