COLUMBUS, Ohio – Noah Brown sent a quick note to five-star cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick last week expressing he hopes the junior prospect of Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter’s Prep enjoys his visit to Ohio State.
An oral commitment to Ohio State’s 2014 recruiting class from Sparta, N.J., Brown doesn’t know Fitzpatrick personally. But since both are from New Jersey – an area Ohio State has recruited more heavily since Urban Meyer took over the program – Fitzpatrick said he appreciated the note.
Brown can take solace in the fact that Fitzpatrick, one of the most sought after prospects in the 2015 class, enjoyed his visit to Columbus to watch the fourth-ranked Buckeyes beat visiting Penn State, 63-14.
“It was a great experience,” Fitzpatrick,
a five-star recruit according to Rivals.com, told Cleveland.com in a phone interview on Sunday. “The fans were crazy, the stadium was huge and the players did a really great job against Penn State. It was a great time.”
