A top cornerback in the 2026 class relished visiting Ohio State last weekend.
Four-star 2026 New Jersey prospect
Jordan Thomas attended the Buckeyes’ victory against Purdue on Saturday and was impressed by how dominant they were against the Boilermakers.
“I had a great experience on my visit and had fun watching the game,” Thomas told
Eleven Warriors. “The team is looking like a national championship contender. They executed on all aspects of the game. I like how the defense completely shut out their opponent. I spoke with coach Day, coach Walton, coach Guerrieri, along with others. It was made clear that I am a priority for them and that they think I would be a great fit for their program.”
Thomas told Eleven Warriors he hears from Walton “almost every week” and that Ohio State “stands as one of my top priorities.”
Thomas picked up his offer from Walton in April and has long been grateful for the opportunity to play in Columbus.
“It felt amazing,” Thomas said as he recalled his Ohio State offer. “I felt very thankful and honored to be blessed with the opportunity to play at The Ohio State University. I would say the development is the most appealing part of potentially playing at OSU.”
Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Thomas is the No. 256 prospect and the No. 19 cornerback in 2026. He is the high school teammate of Ohio State 2025 wide receiver commit
Quincy Porter at Bergen Catholic High School (Oradell, New Jersey).
“I am a versatile athlete that understands the game and can make game-changing plays when the opportunity is provided,” Thomas said describing his on-field game. “I can play all types of coverages and can shut down my side of the field as well as anyone who lines up against me in man coverage.”
Thomas said he hopes to return to Columbus sometime soon and that it won’t be too long before he makes a commitment.
“I’m not sure when exactly but I do plan on getting back sometime in the near future after my season,” Thomas said of his future Ohio State visit plans. “I also plan to commit after my season, sometime before summer.”
