A top cornerback in the 2026 class relished visiting Ohio State last weekend.
Four-star 2026 New Jersey prospect Jordan Thomas attended the Buckeyes’ victory against Purdue on Saturday and was impressed by how dominant they were against the Boilermakers.
“I had a great experience on my visit and had fun watching the game,” Thomas told Eleven Warriors. “The team is looking like a national championship contender. They executed on all aspects of the game. I like how the defense completely shut out their opponent. I spoke with coach Day, coach Walton, coach Guerrieri, along with others. It was made clear that I am a priority for them and that they think I would be a great fit for their program.”
Thomas told Eleven Warriors he hears from Walton “almost every week” and that Ohio State “stands as one of my top priorities.”
Thomas picked up his offer from Walton in April and has long been grateful for the opportunity to play in Columbus.
“It felt amazing,” Thomas said as he recalled his Ohio State offer. “I felt very thankful and honored to be blessed with the opportunity to play at The Ohio State University. I would say the development is the most appealing part of potentially playing at OSU.”
Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Thomas is the No. 256 prospect and the No. 19 cornerback in 2026. He is the high school teammate of Ohio State 2025 wide receiver commit Quincy Porter at Bergen Catholic High School (Oradell, New Jersey).
“I am a versatile athlete that understands the game and can make game-changing plays when the opportunity is provided,” Thomas said describing his on-field game. “I can play all types of coverages and can shut down my side of the field as well as anyone who lines up against me in man coverage.”
Thomas said he hopes to return to Columbus sometime soon and that it won’t be too long before he makes a commitment.
“I’m not sure when exactly but I do plan on getting back sometime in the near future after my season,” Thomas said of his future Ohio State visit plans. “I also plan to commit after my season, sometime before summer.”

Ohio State Buckeyes are the favorite to land a top defensive recruit who multiple major programs are chasing after

Ohio State Buckeyes are in pursuit of adding to their 2026 recruiting class and the five current commitments that they have.

The Buckeyes left a good impression on one of their key targets in the 2026 class this past week during his visit and it could pay off big in the end.

2026 four-star CB Jordan Thomas was on campus this past week and revealed that the Buckeyes stand in a terrific spot in his recruitment.

“Ohio State is a favorite for me in my recruitment at this time,” Thomas said via Eleven Warriors. “Getting to compete with like-minded individuals while also being developed in all aspects of life is what’s appealing to me about playing for the Buckeyes.”

Thomas is ranked as the No. 125 overall player in the class of 2026 and the No. 16 cornerback in the class, according to 247 Sports. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback attends Bergen Catholic in Oradell, New Jersey.

Ohio State hit big at cornerback last recruiting cycle by bringing in the top player at the position, Devin Sanchez. Two classes ago it was Aaron Scott Jr. and Bryce West as the top two cornerback recruits. All three of these players will join Jermaine Mathews Jr. and Davison Igbinosun on the depth chart for the Buckeyes.

So far for the class of 2026, the Buckeyes have one cornerback committed and that is in-state recruit, Jakob Weatherspoon. Ohio State will again take multiple at the cornerback position this go around.
