So I have been following OSU for about 25 years....everyone that knows me knows my passion for OSU. I graduated NIU about 7 years ago.
Always root for NIU and usually always root for the MAC and of course always root for OSU and usually the Big10. My wardrobe and all memorabilia are 98% OSU 2% NIU.
Yet I still find my inner voice calling myself a traitor. How dare you(me) root against us(NIU). I have had people at work even wonder what the hell is wrong with me.... "how can you root against your own school?"
My answer - I dunno. Ohio St. IS my school, I just graduated from another school.
People look at me like I've lost my marbles. I am at this point resigned to rooting for NIU to play well, and OSU to win by about 17 or so, but not be as close as the score shows. One of those games. A loss by OSU is devastating. A loss by NIU is expected.
Anyone else run into this dilemma? I feel like somewhat of a scumbag.
I have been thinking about this game all year...thinking when I first saw the schedule way back when....wow that is neat. NOT SO NEAT NOW though!
What would you do? How would you react? How would you choose? Who would you root for?
I haven't talked much at all about this game because I just couldn't. I've read the posts of G-force and some of my fellow knucklehead Husky brethren. Just couldn't chime in much....too conflicted.
