They just announced the new Super Smash Bros. game.

Looks great. Also Solid Snake, from MGS will be a playable character in the game.
 
I'm also hoping to see it have success. I'm moe doubtful that I will pick one up now however. With an unoffically announced price of $250 and games at $50 dollars i'm going to likely take a pass.

I was hoping and thinking it'd be $200 and games priced at $40. I mean I know the systems games will look only slightly better then current generaton systems (xbox and ps2), and no new ps2 or xbox game is being released at $50 dollars anymore, so I just think $40 would be a better price for games to start at.

With all the help Microsoft has given Nintendo, saying to pick up a Wii with a 360 and enjoy both for less then the cost of a PS3 it's sad to see Nintendo price themselves above that possibility. I still expect the 360 to drop by close to $50 in November though.

I thought the $250 and $50 prices were fantastic.
You have to remember, the original Nintendo was $200 - in 1985.

The game play with the controller is really innovative, and all Nintendo games are fun. The new Zelda, Mario, and Metroid Prime 3 look amazing.

Mind you I will admit that I am a large Nintendo hater before I even say this, just so it willl make more sense.

I have no idea how people cannot be completely sick of Nintendo. The systems are full of kiddy games, and all of them launch with the same 3 titles. Zelda, Mario, and Metroid. Personally I hope Mario dies in a fire, Samis just needs to get naked, and Link catches the Aids or something.

Ok on a more serious note.......I think the controller idea is awesome, but will likely be more popular in Japan, due to the fact that the Japanese tend to go for the gimmicky stuff. Nintendo needs some serious 3rd party support (which they never get) in order to be successful over here.

I think the Gaycube is probably one of the worse systems ever. I have been filling in part time at EB games, and we have a stack of them used that you could build a house out of. There arent enough games to even cover the walls, and most of them suck anyway. I did like the Resident Evils on it though :biggrin:

Same goes with the DS actually. I cannot figure out why the damn things are so popular. I really dont believe there is one game on it that looks fun. Mind you this is all purely opinion, but you cant argue the numbers.

Edit: Did want to add that I totally understand that the Gaycube is a good system for young kids. The SNES was a good system, although I was more of a Sega fan. The original NES was groundbreaking, and I give it all the props in the world. I just wish Nintendo would get their heads out of their asses and get some new ideas.

Sonic would beat the shit out of Mario in a street fight :biggrin:
