It's finally here in the US of A. How many of you are running out at midnight tonight to buy Wii Fit?

It's been a monster around the rest of the world, limited only by shortages of the hardware. 3.29M units sold thus far -- sells out same day just about everywhere.

P.S. if you're still looking for a Wii, tonight/tomorrow will be the time to find one. Retailers should have HUGE allotments of Wiis on-hand for the Wii Fit launch. I mean Christmas-like stock levels.

I know the wife really wants the fit. Trying to decide if I am going to fight the crowds to get it, or just wait a few months.

I've thought the same thing, but I really don't expect Wii Fit to be "in stock" regularly. When it was formally unveiled last year at E3, I thought then that it would be a revolutionary-type thing and becomes a perpetual sell-out, just like the Wii.

I'm thinking I'll just brave the lines and become one of the crowd tonight at Meijer and get it over with.

There's another potential option Wii Fit and that would be a rent to own place. My friend couldn't find a Wii and bought one there. Apparently if you pay off the purchase in the first month that can't charge you interest and have to sell to you at market price under the law.

I know they already have a second game for the board (a snow boarding game)

Picked up Wii Fit last night. Very cool, very sophisticated setup for the balance board. It is extremely sensitive. Ran through some of the available exercises that don't require unlocking (about half an hour) which covered a few yoga stretches, some core building exercises, and three of the aerobic routines. It got the heart pumping.

Biggest complaint is the size of the board itself. It's rated to 330 lbs, but if your feet are larger than a mens size 10, your toes will be hanging over the edge. I don't think this will inhibit playing, but it would be less intuitive.

So your saying, with my size 15 feet, I should just forget it.

Anyone still looking for a Wii, the Walmart on Bethel Road had the shelves stocked with them today about a hour ago. (probally about 20 systems in all)
Those will last an hour. :tongue2:

Crazy. This thing is going to be the hot item for three Christmases in a row.

I was surprised, because they were actually on the shelf and the doors shut on them with no one around. Most places they hit the shelf and its like a bat signal goes out.

This Walmart had them bundles with the Wii play aslo for $299. So you got a second game (comes with sport) and your second controller for 299

News: Animal Crossing & Punch-Out!! Wii Detailed

...

As for Punch-Out!! Wii, NGamer claim that Balance Board implementation is on the cards for dodging and weaving, in addition to Wii Remote and Nunchuk controlled punching (which goes without saying) in the style of Wii Sports Boxing and Rhythm Boxing, which was included as a minigame in Wii Fit.

...

Punch-Out!! Wii w/ balance board support.

Saw this via Kotaku this morning.

Still looking for a Wii, or know somebody that is? Here's a "doorbuster" Black Friday deal from Sam's Club: a Wii system (with included Remote, Nunchuk, and Wii Sports) + 3 additional Remotes + 3 additional Nunchuks + Mario Super Sluggers + King of Clubs Mini Golf. For $224.

Now THAT's a Black Friday deal. The console alone is still worth $250, and you're getting another $150 worth of controllers thrown in for free, plus two games. If you want to play the speculation market, you could flip this bundle on eBay the next week for well over $425.

Keep in mind, you need the business membership to get in at 7:00am, since non-business members don't get in until 9:00, and these will certainly be gone by then.

Finally bought a Wii this week. Went to the GameStop in Fairfield Twp. and they had new and used consoles in stock. They said they're having trouble moving them because they're tucked in an obscure corner of one of those outdoor malls, so nobody knows they are even there. All the other CE retailers in that same shopping area are sold out.

My girlfriend came home from the mall last week and said she wanted one after spending some time playing Wii Bowling at one of those demo kiosks they have. She even offered to have that be our Christmas gift to each other. I was thinking to myself, "OK, so I get video games for Christmas and in exchange don't have to bother with expressing any feelings in jewelery form?" Sign me up!

We got a new console because the used ones don't come with Wii Sports, and also got WiiPlay. We plan on adding MarioKart, Paper Mario & Wii Fit to the collection in the near future.

We haven't got it out yet because we've been pretty busy, but it looks like it's gonna be fun. Frankly, I'm tired of most of the kind of games you'd find on Xbox or Playstation. Everything is either a licensed sports game or a zombie apocalypse FPS. That kind of thing worked for me about five years ago when I was in college (I majored in Halo), but not anymore. I think this will be a refreshing experience.
