This. I started watching hockey late night tv and caught numerous Oilers games and that team was just amazing which everyone knows. I just decided I wanted to root for an American team and Pittsburgh was the closest to Cincy. Since I'm not a Bengals fan the Pittsburgh thing never really bothered me that much. Reds beat the Pirates and as a Dolphin fan, Marino was from Pitt so no big deal to me. When CBJ started I rooted for them being in the West but the realignment killed that. Im a staunch supporter of all my teams hence the fracking Reds so it's only happened once for me to change teams and that was from the Hawks to Cavs. The Buckeye blood does run thick but so does my loyalty I guess.

I've always had a soft spot for the smaller market Canadian teams. Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Ottawa...those fanbases are so passionate. The Oilers-Flames (Battle of Alberta) rivalry is as intense as any in sports. I'm really hoping for an EDM-CGY series next round. Don't think they've met in the postseason since the early-90s or something like that.

The regular season matchups are nasty as shit, a playoff series would be nuts. Not sure if the Flames are gonna hold up their end of the bargain...they can't seem to score on Dallas. Hell, I thought the Oilers were gonna trample LA after games two and three, then they got goose egged last night...so I guess that's no sure thing either. Playoff hockey.

Leafs finna be a first round exit AGAIN. Maybe investing 40% of your cap into three forwards isn't the best strategy?
