Indianapolis Colts rookie safety John Boyett was arrested early Monday morning on preliminary charges of disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and resisting law enforcement, according to a report by the Indianapolis Star.

The report says Boyett, a safety listed as being on the reserve/non-football injury list, became very angry after not being allowed into a bar in downtown Indianapolis because he was too intoxicated.

According to a police report on the incident, Boyett, who played college football at Oregon, allegedly told the police “You can’t arrest me, I’m a Colts player” and became “very abusive.” The report also stated that Boyett threatened a police officer, saying “I am going to come back and break your jaw.”

Never a good thing to tell a police officer.

The woman who falsely accused three Duke University lacrosse players of rape was convicted of second-degree murder Friday in the stabbing death of her boyfriend .... Mangum said the stabbing was in self-defense, alleging that Daye was beating her in a jealous rage when she grabbed a knife and “poked him in the side.”

In 2006, Mangum falsely claimed Duke lacrosse players Reade Seligmann, Collin Finnerty and Dave Evans gang-raped her at a team party where she was hired as a stripper. Duke’s head coach Mike Pressler was forced to resign, and the team canceled the remainder of the season because of the incident.

Mike Nifong, who prosecuted the three players, was later disbarred.

Colts owner Jim Irsay faces four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance after being arrested late Sunday on suspicion of intoxicated driving.

Irsay, who also faces a preliminary misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated, was arrested in the northern Indianapolis suburb of Carmel, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
The 54-year-old Irsay was released Monday afternoon, and his initial court appearance is March 26.

Kravitz: Jim Irsay fighting for his life, needs help

In a twisted way, Jim Irsay's friends have been praying for this day. They've been praying for the day when he'd reach rock bottom and be forced to come to terms with a drug problem that he's battled for some time.

"He's a sick, sick man," one source told me. "He desperately needs help."

There was a sad inevitability to what happened Sunday night in Carmel. Irsay faces four felony counts after being arrested on preliminary charges of driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance. For years, Colts insiders have known that Irsay was struggling again with drugs. For years, they fought to get him into rehab. At the very least, they fought to get him a driver in the hopes of keeping him from getting behind the wheel.
.
.
.
The Colts have been cleaning up Irsay's messes for years now. Time and again, Irsay dismissed the concerns of his close friends and confidants, even if his increasingly gaunt physical appearance sent up red flags throughout the community.

I asked him two months ago about his weight loss, which has brought him from 235 pounds to 165, and he insisted the doctors wanted him to lose weight to keep the strain off his troublesome back and hip.

So that whole contingent of Ravens fans that screamed "we don't know what happened in that elevator" in regards to Ray Rice.

Yeah... The boys at Tmz might have some video clearing that up.

If Rice gets more than a few cheap shots this season, I wouldn't be surprised.

With the new video coming out I wonder if the League will rethink the 2 games? Josh Gordon gets a year for being around guys smoking weed and Ray Rice gets 2 games for trying to kill his gf. Nice
