Under indictment, DE Charles Grant still training with Saints

METAIRIE, La. -- Charles Grant participated in an offseason training session at the New Orleans Saints' suburban headquarters Wednesday, a day after being indicted by a grand jury in Georgia on an involuntary manslaughter charge.

"Obviously it's something we take very seriously and certainly our condolences go out to the family" of the victim, Saints coach Sean Payton said. "What's most important is the justice system taking it's process. It's something the league will handle and certainly the state of Georgia will handle."

The charges stem from a February altercation at a nightclub.

Jevon Kearse charged with DUI

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)?Tennessee Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop near the Vanderbilt University campus.

Vanderbilt spokesman Jim Patterson said Kearse was stopped early Sunday morning after campus police reported seeing the SUV that Kearse was driving weaving across the road.

Patterson says Kearse took a field sobriety test, but refused a breathalyzer. He was arrested and charged with DUI and violation of Tennessee?s implied consent law for failing to take the breathalyzer test. Officials said Kearse was released later in the morning.

A call to the Titans was not immediately returned. A spokesman for Kearse?s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Kearse had no comment.

Kearse, the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1999 with the Titans, re-signed with the club in the offseason after spending the last four years with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jarrett surrendered his driver?s license and was ordered to pay $420 in court costs and perform 24 hours of community service after appearing in Mecklenburg County District Court.

Jarrett will enter the first stage of the NFL?s substance abuse program, meaning he will be subject to more frequent tests for drugs and alcohol.

Jags badder than Bengals, yet still under Roger's radar - CBSSports.com Live Scores, Stats, Schedules
When uber-good guy Fred Taylor, more Mr. Rogers than Mr. Wint, was cited by police for disorderly conduct outside a Miami bar recently, it was a clear signal the apocalypse is upon us.

Taylor is the longtime runner for the Jacksonville Jaguars and also one of the classiest people in all of sports. Taylor getting cited is like Cinderella being busted in a prostitution sting.

Damn. Fred Taylor ...

What's next? Mickey and Minnie get divorce lawyers?
Then again maybe we shouldn't be shocked. Taylor is a Jaguar, after all, and the Jaguars are to generating arrests what Saudi Arabia is to generating crude.

Taylor is only the tip of the arrest warrant iceberg for the Jaguars. From late 2006 until early January 2008, there were 10 Jaguars players facing some sort of criminal charge, according to the Florida Times-Union. The site Profootballtalk.com, which tracks player arrests, says 10 Jacksonville players have been arrested since February 2007.
