that would be cool to have a college 1, but i still think this game looks kinda weird, i mean i like to actually be a player, and not just watch, you know?
I'm a "coach mode player" anyway. Being a thumb jockey is too easy. In coach mode, AWR ratings all of a sudden mean something.

A QB with a AWR rating of 40, will try to pitch on an option play, 20 yards down field to a Free Safety. You have to recruit GPA and AWR ratings, ans suffer the headaches of bonehead decisions by your players.
You have to game plan to your strengths better in Coach Mode.

A few notes after two hours of this game on PS2.

1: Would be much better on the PC. thank God they made it in this platform.
2: the early going so of this game are very slow. Very little action, all office stuff.
3: Navigation can be hard by keypad. Mouse would be better. See #1
4: Printing out your "to-do" list would be awesome. See #1

I'll add to this list as the weekend goes by.

This game on PS2 takes forever... Load times are easily 30% of game time.

I ended up simming through some important stuff because I got tired of the load times.

I was using Green Bay. I figured, since Favre has one foot in the retirement home, I could get a QB in my second draft, or with my second pick of the first draft and mentor him under Favre for a season.

AJ Hawk was taken overall #1 by Houston.

With the 5th pick, I got Reggie Bush. He immediately became my starting tailback. My second pick, too good to pass up at that #37 overall, was Nick Mangold.

Hawk, Holmes, and Carpenter were all first round picks. Carpenter to Seattle, Holmes to Dallas.

Other notables from the draft:

#2 Saints - Michael Huff
#3 Titans - Matt Leinart
#4 Jets - Vernon Davis
#7 Bills - Mario Williams
#8 Lions - DeAngelo Williams
Browns - Tamba Hali
Ravens - Chad Greenway
Falcons - Chad Jackson
Dolphins - Jay Cutler
vikings - Hlata Ngata
Chargers - Mathias Kiwanuka
Chiefs - Vince Young
Redskins - Laurence Maroney
Bengals - Sinorice Moss
Panthers - D'Brickshaw Ferguson
Steelers - Brodie Croyle

My first pre-season game, ont he second play, Bush broke a 74 yard TD run. We scored once more the whole game, a pass from Favre to Newly aqcuired Michael Jenkins.

I returned the game to Blockbuster yesterday. It kept freezing up on me after my first pre-season game trying to access my Management Meeting. These are meetings with the owner you can't bypass. So I could no longer continue the game.

The disc itself looked like any other rental. It looked like the last person to have it drug it behind their car on a string to return it.
