What are people's reactions now that it has been out a bit? I havn't gotten the game yet....wanted to see what people thought about it.

Like I said before... is for really hardcore football fans. The game is very flawed right now and it is obvious that it is a first year game. I got bored with it fairly quickly but I would love to see what they could do with this game in a few years. Another note, it seemed like it would be cool to call plays through a headset but it didn't work well for me.

Eventually I got alot better at preparing my team for a game, and passing became alot easier. The keys are finding good plays, practicing them often (if you practice them enough they become "money" plays), and keeping your QB rating high through practice and motivation. After a while it does get boring running practice, but if you want to coach a game you really need to do it. Otherwise your player ratings stay at the bottom of their range (every player has a rating range, and more practice and motivation puts them near the top...none and they stay at the bottom).

Another thing is after a couple of years it's really easy signing every good free agent (the cap keeps going up but player demands don't)...not to mention teams don't sign some of their best players for some reason. I now have AJ Hawk and Michael Huff on my D. Both have ranges of 95-99.

A decent first effort, but it's tough to really get into it. I actually find myself now simming much of the season. It is way too boring, and my team is now so dominant I can sim a whole season and not worry about losing...which isn't true the first year.

A decent first effort. Finding a draft "diamond in the rough" is still fun by scouting alot during the year. I think the draft is cool. There needs to be some challenge to practice. It's damn boring watching the same damn plays over and over again in practice and only stopping to yell at players screw up (if they screw up in practice their ratings drop, but often you can correct it by motivating the player). The games aren't bad, especially once you prepare your team well. The cap issue needs to be cleared up. It's no challenge once you build a super team, which is pretty easy. Either raise the players demands with the cap, or just keep the cap the same every year (I think Madden does this).

I officially give it a mild thumbs down. Fun for a little while, but not a game you will play over and over again.

The problem with Madden for 360 though is that there is no Franchise mode or Superstar mode. It is just the basic game where you can play one season they have to start over. IMO, that is not worth the money either.

If that's true, that is absolutely stupid. What is up with NCAA '07 and Madden for 360? Both should be impressive graphically of course but the features should be the same as XBOX and even better. Not being able to edit equipment on 360 for NCAA supposedly and you can on XBOX, then not having Franchise for Madden? I won't even get Madden if that's true.

Since this is the first edition for each series you are going to have features left out from the game. They do this because they spend so much time and money working on all the bugs. They have to decide where to concentrate their efforts, so they choose the most obvious, gameplay.

By doing that though they just made the game no enjoyable to play. If all you can do is play one season with an already set team that is stupid to buy the game. I love Franchise mode and Superstar mode. It is ridiculous to take those out. Granted you still get online play but thats basically it. Doesn't sound like that would be worth $50-60.

Considering the number of bugs found in each EA game on the first day of release, I doubt they spend much time on bugs. I do know that debugging is not the reason they leave so many features out.

EA Sports leaves features out on purpose. You are never going to get a true, complete game from them. It goes against their interests to throw everything they have into a game. Because of the nature of sports and the yearly roster turnover, EA gets to release a new version of each game each year.

However, not everyone would pay full price just to get updated rosters. So EA has to tweak a few things every year to make it seem like they've made great advancements in the game. The truth is that most of this stuff they throw in every year they could've thrown in two years ago if they really wanted to.

This first edition of Head Coach looks like a shell of what the game should be for the price. I'm sure next year they'll add the emotion stick so you can use your thumbpad to flip off the ref. For a price, of course.
