Which players will be selected for this year's Hall of Fame class, which will be announced tomorrow?

Sorry, no free money for Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith, who are first-ballot locks.

The odds are mine. I've extended the bet to be open until mid-afternoon on Saturday.

Not to piss on cornflakes here, but there was no way that another receiver was going to get in the same year Rice did. He was getting the WR stage all to himself this year, as it should be really. So no Carter, no Brown, no Reed, no Sharpe. The thing to watch will be the next couple of years, because (A) the voters have been hard on WRs, and B) there will be a "pecking order" in some fashion with Carter, Tim Brown, Andre Reed, and Shannon Sharpe (who was basically a WR).

So it's really not "Rickey Jackson over Carter" because they judge all of the positions independently. The real problem for Carter, from what I have gathered from people close to the voting, is that there are about 8 voters who are adamantly opposed to voting for Carter...and unless at least a couple change their minds, he won;t get in at all.

All that said, congrats to the Class of 2010 and especially our man Dick LeBeau...it is well deserved and I'm glad he gets to enjoy it.
