The real travesty is that Randy Gradishar isn't in at this point...we should be closing in on 10 right now.

Some additional information sure not to please all of us who like Cris Carter...the cutdowns are incremental, meaning they start with 15, go to 10, then get to 5 (senior guys are separate), then have the final vote on the 5 and the senior guy(s).
The cuts went as follows:
First cut to 10: Brown, Carter, Coryell, Craig, Haley
Second cut to 5: Dawson, Dent, Kennedy, Reed, Sharpe
Last vote/In: Grimm, Jackson, Randle, Rice, Smith
So Cris didn't even make the final 10 (but Andre Reed did), which as I have been saying looks bad for his future prospects.

2 things:
1) Cris Carter getting shafted again is ridiculous. You're telling me John Randle was more dominating at his postion with the Vikings than Cris Carter was?
2) Did Dick LeBeau get in as a player, coach, or both? Seems a long time for him to wait to get in as a player in a year with two first ballot guaranteed locks like Smith and Rice.

2- Player only. He was a senior nominee, so he had already had his "traditional" eligibility period. The senior guys are considered completely independently of the "modern" guys, so the number of other guys (or who they are) really has no bearing on whether the senior guys get in or not in a particular year.
