NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

Not calling the timeout and letting the clock run out was reason enough to fire the guy. Thinking afterwards that it wasn’t a mistake makes you wonder how somebody hired him as the head coach in the first place.

The previous 2 timeouts in the second half were both used to avoid delay-of-game penalties when the game clock was not moving. So as the Bears were attempting a huge second half comeback, their 3 available timeouts saved them a total of ZERO seconds of game time.

And I’m watching it, saying “call the timeout!” as soon as Williams was tackled with 32 seconds left. They could have run a play, and even if they were tackled in bounds would have had 25 seconds to get the FG team in there for a kick on 4th down. And if they had converted the first down, they could have spiked it with 15-to-20 seconds left and had two shots at the end zone to try to win it in regulation, instead of only trying to tie the game.

Im terrified on who they might hire…they are inept from the top to the bottom. George Halas is not coming through that door.

It gets worse one of those timeouts was used on 3rd and 7 at their own 4 yard line. Took a timeout to save 2 yards when the refs had let them snap the ball 2-3 seconds late 2 or 3 times already in the game
