Pretty much this. How exhausting. Everything I hate usually wins.
My one small sliver of hope is Mahomes will go down as the Greatest of All Time and not Brady from up north. Stats and titles are already there or on the way.
Pat really is that guy. His receivers were absolute boneheads this year (Toney, MVS) and Kelce was average until the playoffs.

Not hard to do when the 49ers play man and brought the house a number of times.
Everyone said that 49ers defensive coordinator did well but I thought he was a giant idiot on 3rd down situations. Then late in the game he was giving up way too much.
What makes the chiefs so good is they have a really good kicker. So even if you stop them it’s likely going to be 3 points if they’re past midfield.

Random thoughts from a broken 49ers fan:
I thought, overall, Shanny called a good game. He started to go away from the run and I said "here we go again", but he called great drives on their go-ahead drive in the 4th and in OT. The Chiefs D stood up when they needed to in OT.
We need a new DC. Wilks was brilliant on 1st and 2nd downs, but I don't know wtf he was thinking on most 3rd downs.
Fuck Jake Moody. I knew he was going to cost us. Yes, he made the three clutch FGs, much to my surprise, but you cannot miss that XP. I knew as soon as it was blocked, we were doomed.
The Chiefs were outstanding on defense after the first quarter. They knew the 49ers strengths and limitations and exploited them.
Bosa and Chase Young kept the Niners in the game. They largely limited the damage Mahomes could inflict by keeping him contained...as Romo pointed out countless times.
The Cheifs are inevitable. I cannot stand Mahomes, but he's a stone-cold killer. Once we settled for the FG in OT, I started cleaning up and getting ready for bed. I didn't need to watch that shit.

Hear you about the third downs. Just throw in some zone for fuck sakes. It was just screen pass after screen pass.
I disagree with you on Moody though. Let’s say he makes it? You really think the Chiefs weren’t scoring when they had the ball inside the 10 with 6 seconds? They were scoring to win that game in regulation if the chiefs were forced to take 2 more cracks at it.
What cost you the game was that muffed punt. Until then they hadn’t done much at all.

You might be right about Moody, but the tone of that KC drive is different if the NEED 7 instead of 3. That, to me, was when I KNEW KC was going to win. The muffed punt was just a bad break IMO. Fucking scUM kicker.

SF needs a new DC. Dude sucks. Has absolutely no situational awareness. Shanahan even had to burn a timeout because the playcall was so mind-numbingly stupid in the situation. This L is on him. I have no idea what their defensive strategy was in the fourth quarter and after. It almost felt like they wanted to be eaten alive by 7 yard gains.

Good lord, just looked at the stats.... 23/38 .... Purdy with 38 pass attempts (I know most of those were short, to the side with CMC but still).... 22 rushes for CMC but no more than 3 for anyone else... Shanny wtf are you thinking man... I know everyone is like fire the DC.... thats fine... I dont think they did a bad job they lost one of their best LBs on what the second series? the O was chewing up clock and KC's D was absolutely GASSED IMO this loss falls squarely on Shanny and not the D...

He had the worst WR corps in the league this year, possibly by a wide margin, and still won the SB. Yeah he had Kelce, but he's in his Bettis I'll impact when I feel like it and bitch when I don't stage, and Pacheo was a good RB but not spectacular. Guy's wife and brother are insufferable, and he whines wayyyyyy too much, but he's a stone cold killer. He's one behind Bradshaw (who he's way better than), and Montana, and then it's just Brady. My guess is he's going to make a run at it if he doesn't get hurt.
