RE: the Fields no call in the video above. I'm cool with it.
His lead foot and leverage were extended and beginning to give himself up as the DB is already lowered in his leverage and strike zone. Instead of making things worse, the DB rolls himself and uses the flat of his back to glance more so than directly land a blow 'down' onto Justin. Full shoulder and JF is likely getting fucked up.
If the NFL wants to fix that problem, STOP giving QB's those calls. Because they're intentionally sliding late like that to get said laundry and not giving ample time to protect themselves or allowing the defender to not have to be put in a no-win scenario. Again, let's stop asking defenses to protect offensive players.
