NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

No it's not. It's a rule that keeps teams from snapping the ball before it's ready for play. In some cases, it allows the defense time to make player changes if the offense does so.
I'm talking about the "by rule there needs to be 3 seconds on the clock to be able to spike the ball" rule. What defensive or offensive player changes are being made on a spike?

Good morning. A reminder that yesterday, in the 4th quarter of a playoff game, the Cowboys successfully ran a fake punt and then decided to keep their punting unit on the field for 1st down.

Dumb enough that San Fran fell for a fake punt at midfield, but the Cowboys dialed it to 11. I almost forgot about this stupid minute because the final 5-6 minutes outshined this stupidity, somehow.

I think after further review, this was a full 5 CheezItz game. The first in NFL history.

I can excuse the SF timeout because I'm pretty sure that's a level of stupidity never before achieved in a professional football game.

Tired of the Chiefs going at Ben’s knees.
Can someone just Turkey Jones him for goodness sake?

I like how the Cowboys lost the game on a QB draw and then doubled down on the decision after the game. Blamed the ref.

America’s stupid team. McCarthy is a perfect fit.

One of my friends said Dak was supportive of the fans throwing shit at the refs too. I’ll have to find a link.

EDIT:

Got it Dak. It’s only sad when it’s at the players. You and your coach dialed up the worst call of all time and you’re upset at the refs. Ok

I don't know how many plays the typical NFL playbook contains, but they chose, literally, the worst play possible to run in a situation with 14 seconds remaining and a running clock. Absolutely remarkable. This isn't new to McCarthy, I remember watching their Thanksgiving 2020 game where they got blown out of their own building by a 4-7 Washington team with Alex Smith's corpse at QB and wondering how McCarthy has an NFL HC job.
