NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

This has to be the most consistently terrible reffing in my lifetime. It seems like the refs are the story after every single game. They just negatively affect the game experience and are making the NFL a practically unwatchable product in 2021.

I didn't watch the game last night, but the refs combined with NY made 2 horrible calls to try to keep the Bungles in the game Sunday. That wasn't even the worst reffed game the Browns have had along with Myles Garrett never getting holding calls.

What an absolute joke. Fields and the Bears got royally screwed. That it was at Pittsburgh comes as no surprise.

I have an older brother....so I have a pretty well trained ear on detecting bullshit to make what you're about to say sound good when we both know it's, well, bullshit. Starting off an answer with "First of all, keep in mind that.....". That all translates into "I know it was a weak call, but in some circumstances it could've been the right call. Just not this one."

Well Tony, your perspective is fucking stupid and it's time to find a new gig. Everyone else gets fired when they suck that bad at what they do.

There is one question they didn't ask. Two, actually. How much did you bet on the Steelers? How much did you win?

The problem in Tony Corrente’s explanation, and it’s evidenced in the video, is if Marsh staring at the bench and coaching staff that had literally just cut him a couple weeks previously was taunting, why didn’t he throw the flag right away? Why put your hand on the flag and hold it, waiting for Marsh to jog back across the field where you back-peddle a step and literally show your ass to hip check the guy, then throw the flag?

It’s bad optics anyway you view it, and suspect as hell.

It’s even worse in light of the multiple no-calls on roughing Fields or the phantom cut block penalty that took 4 points off the board in a game the Bears ultimately lost by 2 points.

Robert Klemko coming to skewer that little shill Adam Schefter, ESPN and the NFL.

Worth clicking through and reading it all. Journalistic integrity is so far gone and replaced by access journalism. This stuff impacts things outside their little Disney bubble but they don’t care. I hate these people.
