Giants quarterback silences his critics with improved play

Eli Manning's passer rating for the Giants the past three games is a surprising 122.6.
Since Thanksgiving, Eli Manning has thrown four passes that were intercepted by the Vikings (three returned for touchdowns), tossed 35 incomplete passes against the Redskins (the most by any NFL quarterback in 40 years), fumbled five times against the Bills and became the player that the Giants always hoped he would be.
"He has really taken control of the game, control of himself, control of the offense, and he has played very, very well," coach Tom Coughlin said Wednesday.
Three weeks ago, Manning's unpredictable play was the biggest threat to the team's championship hopes. Then he played the best three-game stretch of his four-year career, perfectly timed for a surprising run toward the Super Bowl.
