forecast for Sunday now is a high of 6 and a low of -2. Since this game is at 6:30 the sun will be down and it will be friggin' COLD. I went to one game in these conditions when I lived up there and if it's windy it will just add to the fun.

Packers 27, GMen 13

Elli Manning: Taking control
Giants quarterback silences his critics with improved play

CHRIS O'MEARA Associated Press
Eli Manning's passer rating for the Giants the past three games is a surprising 122.6.

Since Thanksgiving, Eli Manning has thrown four passes that were intercepted by the Vikings (three returned for touchdowns), tossed 35 incomplete passes against the Redskins (the most by any NFL quarterback in 40 years), fumbled five times against the Bills and became the player that the Giants always hoped he would be.
"He has really taken control of the game, control of himself, control of the offense, and he has played very, very well," coach Tom Coughlin said Wednesday.
Three weeks ago, Manning's unpredictable play was the biggest threat to the team's championship hopes. Then he played the best three-game stretch of his four-year career, perfectly timed for a surprising run toward the Super Bowl.

Interesting bit of info I picked up last night from Jay Maroitti(sp?) from around the horn

Favre is 45-3 at Lambeau when conditions are below 20f
also of the last 19 FGs attempted in playoff games at lambeau only 4 have been made all by the Packers.

I'm putting some vCash on the pack!!

Getting ready for Church and the Game in Green Bay.... AP
The Packers Prayer
A take on The Lord's Prayer"Our Favre, Who art in Lambeau, Hallowed be thine arm.
Thy bowl will come,
It will be won.
In Phoenix as it is in Lambeau.
And give us this Sunday,
Our weekly win.
And give us many touchdown passes.
But do not let others pass against us.
Lead us not into frustration,
But deliver us to the valley of the sun.
For thine is the MVP, the best of the NFC, and the glory of the Cheeseheads, now and forever.
Go get'em. Amen."

Lambeau back in Ice Bowl territory
Still, Packers, Giants are ready to rumble
Sunday, January 20, 2008 3:47 AM

FROM WIRE REPORTS
The wind-chill temperature around 3 p.m. today in Foxborough, Mass., is expected to be in the 10- to 15-degree range when the unbeaten New England Patriots and San Diego Chargers meet in the AFC Championship.

That could be downright balmy compared with what's on tap when the NFC decides which team will represent the conference in the Super Bowl.
Three-and-a-half hours after the Patriots and Chargers kick off, the temperature in Green Bay's Lambeau Field could be in the historic Ice Bowl range when the Packers play the New York Giants. Kickoff temperature is expected to be around actual zero, falling into the minus-single-number range as the game moves into night.

Giants more settled on defense since first meeting

Sunday, January 20, 2008 3:18 AM
By Tom Silverstein

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- If defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo learned anything in the New York Giants' loss to the Green Bay Packers early this season, it was that you can't disrupt Brett Favre's house if yours isn't in order.
Way back on Sept. 16, Spagnuolo's defense was still adjusting to the blitz-happy style he brought from Philadelphia, where he was an assistant under blitz master Jim Johnson for eight seasons.
What's more, end Michael Strahan was just two weeks past a holdout that lasted all of training camp, rookie cornerback Aaron Ross was not yet a starter, linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka was lost in space on the strong side and nickel cornerback Kevin Dockery was out with an ankle injury.
