Big step up for Muschamp, of course, he was next in line for the UT position, but how could anyone turn down the Gator job with the in-state talent, academics, budget, stadium and history they have.
Working for the University, this makes me very intrigued to watch what happens.
I'm betting Florida was turned down by Stoops and Mullen, and got a 'not interested' by perhaps a couple of others.
Muschamp isn't a sure thing, but I doubt there are a lot of 'proven' head coaches out there willing to step into a situation where A) they are following a hugely successful predecessor who B) still has an office down the hall.
Probably not a bad hire, but it'll take a couple of years to know.
