And imagine just how good Newark High School would be without stupid NC around. AAAARGH!

They recruit players. Most of their better players, at least during my HS years, were products of the public school system, then just go to NC for HS. Total bullshit.

Not to mention that when Lakewood won the DII back to back state baseball titles, damn near the whole team grew up playing for Modern Welding at Mound City LL. They never won the shrine with that team, but they were the best in the state in DII for two years straight.

Don't forget about the kid that played left field for Druids. Can't remember his name but he wore jeans while playing a VERY DEEP left field. I'll see if I can find a picture.

I have only read stories about that dude and how unreal of a talent he was.

Heath just won, so they are in the state final Saturday with NC.
