Put a lot of effort into the swim team at my school. This is something that I have oblivously already started.
But I want to get my times down. I started out late on the team only a week and a half from our first meet(first meet was last tuesday). I came in 3rd. with a time of 39.36 seconds in the 50 Free Style. My teammate came in second and the kid that won it had a time of 32.96 seconds. I wasn't even sure I would swim that day because of a rotator cuff injury. Amazingly, that was a career best for me.
The pool where we practice at (Sequoia Bubble) is freezing cold. The air temp. inside is 50 degrees. The water is like 80 degrees. It is a outdoor pool and they put a bubble over it so it can be used in the winter. We shiver so much that its hard to get a good time. Needless to say the floor/concrete is not heated. So your feet are freezing when you stand inside.
I really want to get my times down so I can hopefully win a couple of heats this year and show up good at City in Feburary. There's a kid a Centennial that has a time sub 25 second 50 Free. I want to get my time below 30 seconds before City so I don't get blown out of the water.
With the week I've had off of swimming, my shoulder/rotator cuff is back to 100%. Got a meet on Wed.
Wish me luck!
