New USC Head Coach - Closed when news broke

Rumors were circulating on the Vol board last week that Lane to SC was a done deal before Carroll to the Seahawks had been leaked. Some even suggested Orgeron was recruiting kids to SC on the Vols' time.

Rumor posted 30 minutes ago was Orgeron texted all the recruits, "You are welcome to join us at USC."

Is it just me, or is this a recruiting dream team?

Orgeron is a great recruiter (from what I understand), and now they have three coaches who've been in the NFL.

Talk about a draw for kids who are looking to go to the league...

Like I've said for a while- No need for an NFL team in LA; they've already got the best college football (players and coaches) money can buy.

Given how things look with USC and the NCAA... I wouldn't be so sure.

Which is true (certainly up into 2005). It is also an argument against Kiffin and Orgeron diving into the frying pan. Alternatively it is further evidence of hubris - by more than one person.
