I believe they actually filmed Detroit 187 in parts of Detroit.

Yes, it is shot in Detroit. I am sure part of it is the huge tax breaks they instituted a few years back. There has been a big jump in filming in the area. Of course that is about the only business that increased. Well, legal business.

I believe Mich passed legislation about 6 years ago to bring more filming of movies and TV shows to their state. I remember reading about these tax breaks. I'm too lazy to Google it now to provide a link but I believe this is now paying dividends for their crippled economy.

Community and 30 Rock were awesome last night, Office was pretty damn good too.

I passed out on the couch mid-Office. That's what the DVR is for. Community was great, as usual. I'm off to pick up season 1 today.

'The Office' was solid, we'll see if they can keep it up. The past couple seasons it seems like they've followed a good episode with a couple of stinkers. 'Outsourced' looks like garbage. NBC hit a homerun with 'Community' (for my money, the best comedy on tv right now with a nod to 'Modern Family') last season, but I think they struck out here...playing on silly racial stereotypes and fart jokes.
