Tsk, tsk ... you traditionalist. I'm all for the innovation within the existing rules. If they've got 7 guys on the LOS, it's the defense's job to figure out how to line up against them.

They lined up with a center and a guard next to him, trips wide right, a QB in pistol/shotgun, and 5 lineman split to the far left. If they think the defense isn't set up right, they hike it and go for two, otherwise they shift and then kick it. It's a severe variation of the swinging gate, and they've run it in other games this year.

They hiked it, the QB rolled, scrambled, and got stopped short.
