i can't pm to get a password for the romper room or get an avator pic to work, even when the pic is smaller then the required size. any help is appreciated. thanks

If you're being returned to a "log in" screen, then you're trying to enter the password as your own. Log into the site, enter the Romper Room, be prompted for a password, enter it exactly as you got it. It should only be 11 characters long. No more, no less. If it's 13, remove the quotes, parenthesis, brackets, or whatever else might be framing it.
As far as an avatar pic, as long as it's within the size (both width and height, and file size) limits that the avatar area dictates, there's no reason why you can't use one. Start by trying to use one of the provided ones. When you see that working, try uploading or linking to your own.
Linking to some 200x200 pic and expecting it to size down won't work. If it did, we'd have people slowing pages down. Imagine a 1280x1024 image squeezed down into that spot. It looks small, but loads large. Particularly for the poor bastards on modems. I believe it's (the limit) 75x75, and less than 10k. More than enough even for something animated.
Not knowing where the point of failure is, I can't speak any more intelligently about the problem you're facing. Best recommendation I have is, 'try, try again.'

Note: The maximum size of your custom image (Avatar) is 75 by 75 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).
Mothra, if you need help with your Avatar, please let me know. If it is an animation, it must be an animated GIF. If it is still not working PM me and we'll discuss how to get it working. I can edit most images if I can get a copy of it. We can figure out how to do this if it is still a problem.

thanks for all the info everyone. 3yards.. yes, that is exactly the picture i am trying for... but as far as still trying to enter the romper room, i am still returning to the page where to enter the password for the romper room. i have my cookies on and i am typing my password in correctly. this is what reappears after i hit login, "Your administrator has required a password to access this forum. Please enter this password now.
Note: This requires cookies!". i don't know what i am doing wrong. thanks for the help.

Here's your graphic scaled to 75 pixels by 71 pixels. Copy this to your hard drive and then upload it to use as your avatar. Let me know if you have any questions.
EDIT: I uploaded it as my avatar just to see if it works ... looks OK. I will switch back once you get it working as your avatar.
