Need help with Sound issues

I have made two major changes to my computer in the last month. Some time in that month I began losing sound with multimedia applications. The two things I changed were the upgrade to SP2 and then I installed a DVD burner. The first time I noticed a loss of sound was with Party Poker. It was just after PartyPoker upgraded their software. I started losing the sound associated with the cards and chips being dealt. At first that was the only sound I could not hear. After a while it moved to WMP and then my quicktime player. I have a sound blasterAudigy 2 and yes, I did update to the newest driver.

Hmm, maybe it's only attempting to play sound through the digital out. Under your voulme properties, click advanced, see if it has digital out checked in there.
