Nebraska vs tOSU, Noon ET, Oct. 24, FOX

That's a big number considering the amount of time the backups will be on the field, but I'd still lay the points and take the Buckeyes if I ever bet real money. I'll probably put some vCash on it if BB73 sets it up.
If I set it up? There was a bet for Coastal Carolina vs Louisiana-Lafayette last night!

Early odds have buckeyes at 21.5pt fav

The Buckeyes, who currently hold the second-best national championship odds (+300) and are a -500 favorite to win the Big Ten on BetOnline, are one of two Big Ten teams favored to win their season openers by more than three touchdowns, along with Wisconsin (-23.5) over Illinois.

Ohio State defeated Nebraska 48-7 in their matchup in Lincoln last season. In their annual matchups since 2016, Ohio State has won three of its four games against Nebraska by at least 41 points; the only close game between the Buckeyes and Cornhuskers in the past four years came in 2018, when Ohio State won 36-31.

Just sayin': We won by 31 last year in Lincoln, so winning by more than 21.5 at home this year should be easily accomplished.

NEBRASKA'S AD THINKS HIS TEAM SUCKS. There was a time when Nebraska was a valuable ally in the fight to save the football season, but now that football is back, Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos is back to his old completely unbearable ways.

"I don't look at (attendance) as a competitive-advantage issue. I'll tell you what's a competitive advantage: Ohio State's schedule compared to Nebraska's. That's a competitive advantage, and that's something the conference should control."

Moos is referring in part to Nebraska's divisional crossover games against Ohio State and Penn State, regarded as the top two teams in the Big Ten East Division. Meanwhile, Ohio State's crossover opponents are Nebraska and Illinois, which both ended last season with sub.-500 records.

If you didn't catch on, this is actually a glorious self own.

Moos is complaining that Ohio State's crossover games are too easy, but half of those crossover games are against Nebraska. So...

Basically, Nebraska's own athletic director is publicly saying that he thinks Nebraska is bad at football. That's a fair take, to be sure, but it's not a take I would have expected him to dish so confidently.

Nebraska QB Adrian Martinez to start opener against Ohio State

Nebraska junior quarterback Adrian Martinez will start this week's opener against No. 5 Ohio State, coach Scott Frost said Monday.

Martinez, who had a record-setting freshman season in 2018 for Nebraska but struggled at times in 2019, will take the first snaps after competing with redshirt freshman Luke McCaffrey in the preseason. Frost repeatedly praised McCaffrey on Monday, saying Nebraska feels like it has "two first-string quarterbacks" entering the season. Martinez's experience, with 21 career starts and 5,817 yards of total offense, made the difference in the decision.
