Nebraska Cornhuskers (corn)

The way that was done:
  • It had obviously been practiced enough to be well executed
  • If a Maryland player was there to field it (unlikely, given their tendencies), Olave was there to make the tackle.
  • Whether recovered by Maryland or kicked out of bounds (far more likely), field position would have been much better that Ohio State’s 45-yard-line (about 12 yards better).
Point being, it was a lower risk approach and better executed. In every way it was better coached than either of Frost’s debacles.

I would also guess that the team had a "kill code" or audible that could change it to a "normal" kick off if the pre-kick read gave them a reason to think Maryland was ready for it.

on an insightful note: no idea who the fuck this guy is but I thought there were some solid points here:

To speak to the piece about how you’d kill for Pelini’s output — I heard a stat from the Bigger Ten podcast (hosted by the m fan with man tits) the assistant kid he has on his show said that Frost would have to win 50 consecutive games tk have a win % equivalent to Pelini. lawlz

I think they may be reevaluating that position. They're not getting any better than they were under him (only in his 50s--wtf! He can get even grumpier!)
Either way, Bo ain't going back to Lincoln after how he was treated. The downfall started by hiring "nice guy" Mike Riley. The program decayed rapidly under him and it appears the swell of negative momentum swallowed up Scott Frost, too.

Ugh I didn't realize they lost but it's not surprising considering Nebraska had a slight lead late. I feel bad for Frost though. Everyone thought he was their answer and now there's really not much discussion on whether he is retained next year.

His buyout drops drastically starting in October and you have to think he'll get canned as soon as that buyout drops.

What a mess the west is.
