Nebraska Cornhuskers (corn)

While everyone has the knives out for Frost, I have thought about Ryan Day pulling the surprise on Maryland while up 14 and in complete control of the game.

The way that was done:
  • It had obviously been practiced enough to be well executed
  • If a Maryland player was there to field it (unlikely, given their tendencies), Olave was there to make the tackle.
  • Whether recovered by Maryland or kicked out of bounds (far more likely), field position would have been much better that Ohio State’s 45-yard-line (about 12 yards better).
Point being, it was a lower risk approach and better executed. In every way it was better coached than either of Frost’s debacles.
