Gotta to take Aggy over Nowledge this time around. Serves our purposes.
It makes you look pretty bad, bringing up the tired, decades-old "Nowledge" putdown in the same message where you write "Gotta to take..." :wink2: Just sayin'...

:neb2: :neb:

EDIT: Not only that, but I note that after saying that you "gotta to take", you didn't really put a bet on the Aggies at all! :tongue2:

Talk to me when the Big Ten moves your membership out of "probationary status." Something, I might add, Penn State never had to endure. Gotta believe probation has nothing to do with what you're bringing to the table in the realm of football.

Psssttt... if you're trying to cover up your big grammar gaffe by implying some kind of "academic probationary status" on Nebraska's joining, you're way off base. The academic side of things is the CIC membership, vs. the BigTen membership. Any "probationary" status (which I couldn't find referred to that way anywhere in a quick google search) has to do only with when Nebraska phases into a full revenue share of the sports revenue, which is phased so as not to negatively affect the current schools. We get a full revenue share after we join, our games get televised, and we bring in the revenue.

Actually, the knowing and conscious use of a colloquialism in informal or familiar spoken or written conversation does not constitute a "big grammar gaffe." In the future, however, and so as not to confuse you I will stick to the King's in any Nowledge related discussions.

As for Nowledge's probationary status, I'm unsure as to exactly why. I just know that it exists, and Penn State was never put through anything similar. The fact remains that Nowledge was a football home run, and a huge compromise by all other criteria: basketball, Olympic sports and academics. I can only take solace in my belief that the Big Ten Presidents knew what they were doing and that Nowledge will make full use of the great opportunity they've been handed to scrap and claw their way up the academic food chain to at least be a plausible peer of Sparty.

Go Aggy: you batshit crazy, closet-case, fake military uniform wearing bastards.

You've made that abundantly clear, thanks! :wink2: I tried to enlighten you - try to pay attention this time, ok? First of all, there's no "probationary status" except for in your postings. Nowhere else is anything referred to with that terminology. Secondly, it has exactly zero to do with academics anyway. The sharing of (athletic, not academic) revenues is the only area in which membership for Nebraska is (reportedly) being phased in, rather than granted instantaneously at the membership point. Most of that revenue sharing is due to the revenues from the BigTen Network, which didn't come into existence until 17 years AFTER Penn State joined the conference, making your attempts at comparing the two quite laughable. Keep it up though, its good for a laugh, just like your 50 year old derogatory references to Nebraska.

You know, I really don't give two [censored]s about the details. This whole thing came about because you got your little red panties in a bunch over my pick for the game using the slang name for your university that has, as you've mentioned yourself, been floating around for decades. All I can say, is if your precious little arse can't handle a little academic smack, I'd hold off on any road trips to Evanston or Ann Arbor. You won't like what you'll find. Jesus, I hope you never tried going onto Shaggy Bevo in your BXII days. Those cruel bastards would have had you wrapped around the toilet, clutching a box of tissue and quietly sobbing.

The underlying reality is that Nowledge was a compromised choice because we couldn't get Texas and is now by any criteria (admissions, US News, NRC grad program rankings, research funding) riding the Big Ten's short bus. This isn't the Big 8/12 where you can coast by on the knowledge that there are others even worse than yourselves. Try and catch up to the rest of us. It's god damned embarrassing for the conference. And while you're at it, see if you can do something about that basketball program and Olympic sports. You can't live off volleyball now.

Post your reply as necessary, but I'm done here. Go Aggy!

For my part, I think we should treat conference members better than we treat the Fredos of the world who have earned our contempt with their own actions.

I also would like nothing more than for the conference's newest member to join the conference with a Big 12 Championship in hand.

Go Big Red.

Technically, they're not in our conference until July 1, 2011.

Daddy does have a point in that Nebraska has never, as an institution, tried to stab Ohio State in the back as was and in some areas continues to be the case with our in-state little brothers.

While I never wanted them in the Big Ten, I'm personally going to lay off them and see how things pan out next year.

Still rooting for those batshit crazy Aggies though.

I don't think anyone wants you to change ORD. (not me anyway)
