With the addition of Nebraska to the Big Ten I believe we become the premier conference. Too much versatility and with the slate of QB's coming back next year we're gonna be stacked.

Especially when Michigan returns to the 9-11 win season plateau.

Something tells me Penn State is going to deteriorate for the next 5 years though until the Old Man finally quits/dies.

Yep. Remember there were stories about how their recruiting was falling even in the past couple of years.

Anyway, it doesn't appear that Wisconsin is going anywhere anytime soon, Iowa should be a consistent 8-4 team after this year's delusion of grandeur, and I think Nebraska is going to be right there with ohio State next year and I think may have a better than average chance at winning the Big Ten title next year.

Lots of football to be played however, but wouldn't it be something if Nebraska won the last Big XII championship game ever and then the first Big Ten championship game ever?

Nebraska's schedule next year is ridiculous... It's going to be a rude entry to the Big Ten for them.

Everyone that is someone in the B-10 has an beastly schedule. Since Nebraska has a big schedule, as does OSU, it means that everyone else does by proxy.

Here are the major games in 2011 for the major B10 teams (OSU, PSU, NEB, MICH, WISC)

OSU Plays:
Miami FL (OOC)
Colorado (OOC)
Nebraska
Wisconsin
Penn St.
Michigan

Nebraska Plays:
Fresno State (OOC)
Washington (OOC)
Ohio St.
Penn St.
Wisconsin
Michigan
Iowa

Penn St. Plays:
Alabama (OOC)
Iowa
Nebraska
Ohio St.
Wisconsin

Wisconsin Plays:
Oregon State (OOC)
Nebraska
Ohio State
Penn State

Michigan Plays:
Notre Dame (OOC)
Iowa
Nebraska
Ohio State

Iowa Plays:
Pittsburgh (OOC)
Penn St.
Michigan
Nebraska

________________

Looking at the schedule, it is pretty brutal for both OSU and Nebraska, because both are playing more than one difficult OOC game. Admittedly, Colorado isn't a top-tier team, but it still is a BSC conference team, and no one else schedule two big games like that.

From 2011 on, any 1-loss Big 10 team is pretty much assured a SEC-style BSC Championship bid. If any team actually gets there, they absolutely have earned it. Each team plays at least 3 difficult conference games next year that will be difficult, and the best two teams will play each other, making it 4 games that they'll have to put it all out there for. Something tells me that when it happens, they'll be ready and rearing to go to the Rose or BSC Championship bowl.

*edit* Something tells me that Penn State never ever has a shot at getting in the B10 championship game until JoePa retires. Between all the in-conference foes, there is no way they win more than 1 of the 4 'big' conference games (OSU, Wisc, Nebby, Iowa)

Nebraska = my pre-season pick to play Ohio State in the NC

Sticking with that prediction, this is a team that can play defense in a division of a conference (Big 12 north) without much of it

With Texas falling by the wayside, it seems, you start to get the feeling that the Texas-Nebraska game is going to be a romp.

What better way to end their B12 run by beating Texas by 3 or 4 touchdowns?

The Big12 - 2 is already the best conference this year. When NU goes to the BIg10(11) + 1 is going to be the best.

. You must have missed the game in which your conference's flagship university got trucked by a horrid UCLA team. And Oklahoma barely skated by an absolutely putrid UC team. The Big XII this year is probably the 4th best conference behind the SEC, Big Ten, and Pac-10.
