NCAA09 PS3 BP Online Dynasty

But when I do advance, I am thinking of leaving the training results up for a few hours. I can come back here and post that the training results are up if anyone wants to look at them and give people a window to look at them if they so desire before I advance to cuts.
I think that is a swell idea.

Interesting recruiting story. I got commitments from three RB's all rated B+ speed +200 lbs, in my error of thinking, I thought that would give them 88-89 speed and would be good alternatives. Unfortunately B+ equaled 85 for one, 86 for one and 87 for one which is close but I was wanting 89-90 because my first three RB's are all that; I digress. During position changes I was goofing around and seeing what several players ratings would be if I were to move their position. One of the RB's was overall a mid-high 60's, don't remember for sure, but I moved him to DE and he became an 84 rated DE and is the top rated incoming recruit. So, me thinking that I had recruited 3 indistinguishable career backups, I ended up getting a blue-chip DE by accident. He only weighs 222, so he is a little light, but I like having that kind of speed on the edges.

For the first time I had three recruits rated in the 90's. I will now only have 4 players that I did not recruit starting. The #1 rated HB in this last class has 94 speed. Should be fun.

The #1 rated tackle came in as a 91 which makes him by far my best lineman.

The #1 rated CB came in as a 90 which is far better than I had anywhere else.

I ended up getting that FS Wilson. He's 4th on my FS depth chart and is getting red shirted.

I stole some punter from TCU that ended up being an 80 as a 3 star.

IBI, Was that the 3 star DT? I gave him a looked but passed. I'm 6 deep on the dline with Freshman and sophmores.

What does it all mean? Maybe I'll be better with aTm this year than Ball State although I doubt it.

Just thought to update the schedule a bit since we know where we are at with everything after this crazy weekend. GREAT JOB GUYS in getting stuff done quickly!

Like MSJ said, when I logged off last night there were 5 people finished. Aren't IBI and THEWOOD the only two traveling for Xmas?

I saw a speed conversion rating chart somewhere online. If I feel generous I might post it :wink2: But I would have to hunt for that at home as the site that had it listed is blocked at my work.

But the grading doesn't really work for speed. I do know a 4.35 = 90 speed, and 4.22 = 96 speed as my two WR recruits with that speed were rated like that. So for the speed rating it is more dependent on their actual 40 times versus their 'grade'

So if they got a 85-87 for speed they probable ran a 4.40+ in the forty.

I did my position changes this morning, but did not mark my status as "Ready", because I wanted to double check everything after work. If everyone else finishes with their changes before I can mark things as being ready (doubtful) then go ahead and move on to training results.

Exactly. a 4.16 is 99, 4.18 is 98, 4.20 is 97, and so on down the line.

BN was also traveling but I think he is back on Xmas or something. As long as those 3 are done, I can see us being done tonight, but I am not pressuring anyone as even if we advanced again tonight, we are sitting til after xmas anyway.

Also... sick those guys came in with 90+ ratings! That is freakish! But then again I don't normally land top 10 guys like you did. But then again I will find out in my Texas Tech dynasty as I got the top 3 overall recruits period. But that online dynasty takes forever to advance as we advance once every 1-2 weeks now :(.

It seems to me that the acceleration number is a better indicator of what you have. Getting seperation from the defense is the key. Top end speed is only good for punt returners IMO

Bingo! I look at Speed, Agility & Acceleration! Cuz 2 guys at the same speed will be totally different if one has an 'A' acceleration versus a 'B' acceleration.

Also Elusive is a nice stat to look at, cuz the more elusive a player is the more likely they will make moves on their own to avoid tacklers or get seperation on routes.

Wait a second... why are we giving out hints here? These are internal team secrets

That's true, but high top end speed means very good speed w/out using the sprint button too. That makes finding a hole or making a move much easier.

I forget... Do Freshman ratings go up with Training Results?

True on the agility front as well. I actually moved Derrick Locke from RB to WR because he couldn't run a counter w/out tripping over himself. He was an 87 OVR w/ 90 SPD before training, but I couldn't rely on him to take a handoff and go with it. Catching the ball out of the backfield and running routes seemed to be ok for him though. Now I took an 87 OVR RB and made him a 75 OVR receiver. He should be a good slot guy for me as Richard probably should not have played a down for me as a true freshmen and will probably RS his sophomore year.

It's a good thing that my 5* #2 rated freshman RB recruit is rated an 85 OVR. With 88 spd, sick power and very good at everything else. He can be the boom to Shelton's zoom. Plus having 5 freshmen and sophomore RBs softens the blow of needing to move Locke to WR.
